It had good action, but nothing really else going for it. I'd give them a 7 out of 10 overall. I just wish Darth Maul got more than just 2 scenes really (he kicked 2 Jedi's arses, but he got careless with Obi).

I do.

Attack of the Clones not that much, The Phantom Menace yes, and Revenge of the Sith I really enjoy.

I really like Star Wars, but the prequels aren't exactly bathing in great dialogue and stellar acting. As for the prequels not having the same feel, they're set in a very different time period with very different characters. Of course they don't feel the same.
agreed.

i will say the movies don't totally line up in what they were going for...

1-3 = some great actiony star wars fun
4-6 = a more deep dialogue and filled character spectacle of a trilogy

meh if you walk in expecting those for each trilogy i don't see how you can't enjoy them.

The esteemed Mr. Plinkett will indeed, as has been said, tell you everything you need to know about the prequel-hate. All I can add is that I would be perfectly willing to ignore the prequels, and carry on pretending they never happened if Lucas wasn't so goddamned determined to make it impossible to get a quality copy of the original, un-fucked-around-with versions of the originals.
One day, I will avenge the spirit of Sebastian Shaw. This I swear.

Sorry, but even the things you mentioned in a postitive way, were totally lackluster to me.

The tension just dissolved itself, the direction was so minimalist it was terrible and the only thing the action scenes had going for them was . . . stuff . . . alot of it.

Let Dr.Plinkett help you make the right decision: http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/
Hooray for treating someone as wrong for having a different opinion.
That wasn't the intent. The thread is asking for our opinions . . . I felt like making a joke and showing what lead me to this conclusion.

I didn't explicitely say he was "wrong" either. I just gave MY opinion, in relation to his.

Yes.

I didn't watch all of them completely until just a year or two ago, from episode I to VI. I had seen most of the older ones when I was very young, but this last time I watched all of them in two days. Didn't like the first one, but Episode III is really my favorite from the bunch.

"luke I am your Father"
Got to be one of the most misquoted lines ever, Vader does not actually say Luke, he says "No, I am your father"
Oh yeah, you know i've seen that movie 5 times, yet i still forgot that.

I hate on them for the shit acting, writing, and characters, but the action is entertaining if nothing else can be said about it.

I'm actually a bigger fan of the expanded universe than all but Return of the Jedi, but I like all the movies. The prequels give me my Star Wars-themed action fix while giving backstory, and 4 and 5 set up the events of 6 for me. Then it all beautifully springboards into the myriad books and comics and games I've come to love. Do I have issues with any of the movies? Yes i do. But they're not enough to make me dislike any of them. I look at Star Wars not as a pair of trilogies but as a neverending story told by many of a universe in turmoil whose only hope is a dying sect of warrior monks who don't even fully understand the Force themselves.

The first one had Liam Neeson in it, so obviously that one is OK =) *dreamy sigh*...

The others? I can't honestly say I remember them... =S
