The Beatles are the best there is.

And that is all there is to it.

Though I respect those who disagree with me (THEYRE WRONG I DON'T RESPECT THEM AT ALL MUWAHAHAHAHAHA) I do have to say that Beatles music truly approaches sublime in many cases.

And that they were just brilliant. Even Ringo.

Poor, poor Ringo...

Your missing the point, the kinds of fans that the beatles produced [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLvTq6FdOj4], are very similar to the kinds of fans that Justin Bieber produced [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1x1mGr9YJA]. That is where I see the similarity and can't help but laugh as (some not all) Beatles fans go on and on about how great the Beatles are and act like Playstation/Xbox/Wii fanboys about their favorite music group.

I'm not comparing the two groups musical abilities, just the impact that they have on some of their fans and how fanboyish/fangirlish they get. I swear if you listen to some of these Beatles fans going on about how great the Beatles are and how nothing compares, you would be forgiven for confusing them for being the same kind of people who will start flame-wars over whether or not Microsoft is better than Nintendo or Sony.

Fanboys will always exist but you didnt made it clear in your post that you find it amusing that diehard beatle fanboys will whine about twilight or justin beiber and it's ironic since the fanboys are acting like twilight/Justin fanboys.

And it's hardly the groups fault for what kind of fans they have.

And the fact is that they are correcting in thinking that x brand is better, since apparently for them that brand is better then other brand (if you are comparing ps3/wii/xbox 360 since they have differents controllers, different exclusives, different gimmicks and such things.

Same way that Linux is better then windows for some people, and windows is better then linux for some people.

I'm not blaming the Beatles or Justin Bieber. I'm simply pointing out how some Bealtes "fans" remind me of JB "fans".

It doesn't stop it from getting annoying to hear Beatles "fans" drone on and on about how great the Beatles are and how nobody else can compare.

I've kind of burned out on them from hearing them at work all the time, so I'm kind of jaded and think they are just average. I don't really find them too spectacular.

My first real exposure to the Beatles was Help! Oh man that is one awesome movie. I advise all Beatles fans to check it out, if you haven't already.

Pretty good. They have a number of classics, but nothing particularly musically interesting. Basically, good soft/pop rock group. Not much more.

Bit overrated if you ask me, anyway.

They're a decent band who knew how to write some catchy tunes and were willing to leave their studio shenanigans on the record when most artists at the time hid such things. New production ideas and catchy songs make legends, apparently. I prefer heavier music, personally, and nothing beats Black Sabbath for classic goodness.

Not really my thing, them being a soft pop/rock band.

My brother listens to them a lot so i end up over hearing a lot of their songs. I'm not the one to judge if they are any good or not because they're aren't my genre, but it drives me up the fucking wall when i hear the chorus for "Here comes the Sun" REPEATEDLY. (Yes, here comes the sun, we know all ready!)

That said, i have respect for them popularising rock music, and Liverpool.

They're a great band and one of my favourites. And I'm not just saying that because I'm from Liverpool and have to, less the scouse tourist industry lynch me

They made fantastic albums and were never afraid to experiment with their music. They could easily have just made 10 albums full of songs like She Loves You and 8 Days a Week and still have been massive success. However they chose instead to make albums like Rubber Soul and Revolver. However I feel that while they where very influential, the work of their contemporaries was also highly influential to future musicians and should not be overlooked.

I find it amusing that people hate twilight or Justin bebier but love the beatles. I can only imagine what the parents of kids who first listened to the beatles thought, probably the same things that people who hate JB think.
Lol wut?

How are they the same?
Allow me to elaborate....
-sigh- I was unfortunate enough to have to walk past that on my way to work, if only I had known in advanced I could have planned accordingly. That sad thing is that hotel is right on the corner of Matthew Street, having someone like Beiber so near to the origin of some good music I consider an insult not only to my hometown but also music in general.

You make a fair point about the screaming teenage girls, however I think that is where similarities between the two end. While Beiber and The Beatles have done what you would call generic love songs, The Beatles wrote good generic love songs. I mean are songs like 'Something' and 'eenie minee mo lover' really comparable in terms of quality?

I would personally compare Beiber more to an act like the Osmonds as he has not many fans outside of teenage years and like The Osmonds will fade into distant memory in a few years and only come back once his fan base hits their forties and gets all nostalgic for their teenage years.

They were great, better than great, but not the best. I love their music. They are probably still the band I listen to the most. There is a reason for why nearly every musician lists them as an influence and why they are still listened to by millions of people today. They didn't lose popularity when the next generation came along, and that makes them very different from most popular music.

To my mind, there are two main kinds of sixties music. You got your All along the watchtower/fortunate son kind of protest songs which I love. Vietnam was such a terrible war, but I'll be damned if it didn't have one HELL of a soundtrack.

Then you got your beatles kind of stuff, overly happy and optimistic for my tastes. Doesn't mean it ain't good, that's the main difference to me between modern music and the beatles. The beatles wouldn't shut up about the L word (i'll spell it out. An emotion. four letters. Connected to the friend zone. Easy to get if you're attractive, impossible to get if you're ugly, kay? And I swear to god, if I get any more people saying lesbians...) just as much as modern music doesn't shut up about it, but I can respect the beatles as technically good damn music by talented artists.

That, and it's impossible to ignore their impact on music in general, just like WD griffiths unfortunately earned himself a place in cinema history with his large scale productions. At least the beatles weren't massive racists...

Never liked them. I've always found their songs too... Thin? I guess? I dunno, hard to describe.

I'm talking of course about The Beatles, I guarantee that both genders will agree that they are either the best/overrated/okay/good/great/bad.
Their music does nothing for me at all but that might be because im more of a metal/rock guy. That being said though they mustve done something right to be so popular.

Elvis and Michael Jackson fans also looked like that. Please dont compare them to Justin Bieber just because of how some of their fans were. Case in point, theese guys career lives on beyond Death. Justin Biebers career will take a dive like the boybands of the 90's... Maybe boybands will become popular again.

That reminds me... Backstreet Boys had more content in their lyrics than Justin Bieber. Its a scary thought.

Yeah I'm going with the cop out answer. I like a lot of their early stuff, the frenetic pop-rock that made them famous, but then it goes a bit off the rails with nonsense like Strawberry Fields Forever. I know some people consider it a classic but I cannot stand that song.

I suppose it would be safe to say that on the whole I liked everything of their early stuff, but then only specific tracks of their later work. For example, I could never listen to the whole of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, because of stuff like Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite, but things like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds are still really good.
