I have a female friend who we shall name S for the purpose of the topic on hand.

The question she came into my room about 2 minutes ago and said with a serious face

"I bet everyone will forget my 21st birthday" (next week 11th of may day before mine :/)
my response was merly "ok and i havent forgotten" her response after was
"Is it a dick head move to not remind anyone that its my birthday and hold it against them"
"my mere response was i dunno i guess it could be how about you ask a wider audiance outside of your usual friends"
"Can you do it for me"

So thats about it

This is what Facebook is for, seeing whos birthdays are this week and organising your weekend around that information.
[small]Changing peoples birthdays makes for hilarity when you forget you changed it and see them getting happy birthday wishes 2 months later. I'm still waiting for someone to get a surprise birthday because someone changed the date.[/small]

But yes, you are a dick if you expect people to remember your birthday. I don't remember any ones birthday and if my friends say I forgot I'd laugh at them. They wouldn't care about me forgetting though, they forget it's mine when mine is New Years Day.

Holding it against ppl is the dick move, she deserves it for having the same birthday as me god dammit
ITS MEANT TO BE SPESHUL
MOMMY SAYS I"M SPECHUL

Seriously, unless she remembers everyone else's birthdays without the use of facebook, wishes them a happy birthday a day in advance AND gives them all gifts, she's being an ass for wanting to be an attention whore and wanting and excuse to wail

I would say yes AND give me her email. Seriously holding something like that is just stupid and childish when you havn't reminded them. I don't remember my own family's B'days other than my mum's so friends have no chance unless I am reminded.

Facebook is very disliked in our student accomidation (basically since its full of girls they moan and complain about the little of things on facebook).

Fuck no.

I never remember my freinds' birthdays, and would not expect them to remember mine.

That would be arrogant and egostistical.

Why not I'll send her a happy birthday message
Or failing that I could send her a Facebook happy Bday message. (I use my account very infrequently... I use the account in the character of a pirate when I do)

I remember the birthdays of ALL my close friends and family... I don't see how that can be hard to remember?! Oo People forget mine all the time tho =3. Does make you kind of sad when you remember everyone elses and yet they never remember yours =/. If she's like me she would be freakin pissed if nobody remembered, but maybe she should drop a line reminding people? In later years I always do that, to remind people of someone elses birthday too.

Well, depends how close you are to them. I was a close friend to this friend who was talking to me the day before my birthday, I told him the next day was my birthday, and vented a lot to me. I didn't mind him venting but thought to myself "if he doesn't remember it's my birthday I'm going to yell at him" because I would have been annoyed I talked to him about his problems so much and he couldn't even wish me a happy birthday. But he did so it's all good. That's the only time I've held it against someone, or been close to. I usually remind people when/if they ask me how I am, I say "I'm happy because it's nearly my birthday!". I do get birthday wishes from friends though but I wouldn't hold it against them.

I feel like shit if someone I regarded as close forgot my birthday. It depends who forgot.

I'm so confused right now........ what was she doing out of the kitchen?

Anyhow, putting that unnecessarily sexist JOKE aside, no, you aren't a dick head. I never remember my friends' birthdays..... it's nothing against them personally, I'm just not good at remembering those kinds of details.

But seriously, you should ask her for a grilled cheese sandwich - who knows, maybe you'll get one if you agree to remind people of her birthday? I mean, grilled cheese sandwiches are awesome.

Why is there moon pie.

Anyway, back on topic.

Not really for your close friends. Unless they have truly horrible memories they should remember.

But for those who she is not close with, its not their fault if they diddn't know.
