heres a brief analogy
recently i obtained a good amount of money and want to spend some of it on one
game . but my parents want to me spend on clothes etc now am I just being an ass
am i in the right here .
i got the money from birthday gifts so i hardly earned it

Well, which do you need more? If you don't have much clothes, get clothes. If your clothes are in crappy condition, get new clothes. If you have a good amount of clothes and they're in decent condition, do what you want.

It's your money, you should be able to spend it on whatever you want. But it kind of depends on how old you are?

Personally I would just avoid making the parents angry and buy some clothes with the money. The game you want will fall into your hands eventually and until then it sounds like you have a couple new games to hold you over.

Buy the game, in the end clothes can easily be acquired from thrift stores and the like. But a game, where else will you get 12+ hours entertainment for £30-£60 investment, save some fairly unsavoury veenues?
