...who can't eat for at least a half-hour after I wake up?

I don't know what it is, but if I'm just rolling/falling out of bed, I can imbibe little more than something to drink.

I've had some success with bacon, but that's about it. Anything else has to wait for about 30 minutes before I even consider it. I suspect bacon of magic, and thus, it is irreverent to any outside force that would compromise it's deliciousness being enjoyed at any time.

I'm a diabetic, so it depends. There are mornings that I wake up and the last thing I even want to hear is the word "food." Those are the normal mornings, and I just grab a diet soda.
But if I'm low, I will eat like a compulsive eater with severe OCD.

Same here, I almost never eat breakfast anymore because of it.

I just wake up with a dry mouth and all I want is a simple glass of water.

Probably not.
I'm pretty much useless for anything until I've had a cup of coffee.
Doesn't matter what time it is when I wake up, but get between me and my cuppa go-juice and its your funeral.

Coincidently, this includes breakfast. Coffee first, then I'll worry about eating after that.

I've been known to stash food near my bed just in case I wake up and MUST eat immediately after waking.

That describes my situation.

You are very, very rarely the only one. You can be one-in-a-million, but being one in six billions is something truly extraordinary.

As for that - i also have that problem, kind of. Can't really get myself to eat breakfasts normally, it usually takes much longer than, say, dinner. And coincidentally, i also get on the bacon regardless of situation.

Really I just eat whenever I feel like it, whether I just woke up or not

There is some history of diabetes in my family, and I ALWAYS wake up with the cotton-mouth, but I've been tested diabetes free.

Maybe I just inherited that aspect of it?

Hmmm.

I don't think cotton mouth is an aspect of diabetes.
You might just be breathing through your mouth while you sleep.

I can eat whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it, no time delay after sleeping is required for this event.

It is not an unknown happening for me to wake up, roll out of bed, blearily stumble into the kitchen naked, throw a steak right into a pan and proceed to consume it while flopped on the couch watching whatever inane show [http://greatwahoo.com/] happens to be on the local cable-access channel...and also still naked.

Yeah, I'm real classy like that...

I'd prefer to wait a little while before I eat breakfast, but sometimes with my job(firefighter), we get woken up in the middle of the night to go to what could be many hours of intensive and exhausting labor. We need to get some fuel in there as quickly as possible not really for our bodies, but because mental errors start increasing very rapidly once blood sugar begins to drop. (which is why my station keeps a bowl of already peeled hard-boiled eggs in the fridge.)

Oh? I thought increased thirst was a symptom. Huh. /shrugs

Also, I don't think I sleep with my mouth open, as it's somewhat sealed shut by the parchedness when I wake up. But hey, I could just be closing it right before I wake up, and I'd never know.

I'm sneaky like that sometimes.

I eat breakfast (either normal weetabix or mini weetabix) pretty much as soon as I wake up every morning.
