Poll: American doctor who?

Doctor Who is a very british show. I just can't see it working anywhere else. Plus it'd kind of fuck up the lore if you have two Doctors flying around, unless they simply ignore each other.

Torchwood on the other hand I could see working.

They did this with the 8th Doctor Movie, to be fair, The 8th Doctor (Paul Magann) did pretty well, and for the most part the film was...ok, not as good as the series but it could of been a lot worse... they ruined The Master in it though.

As for a US version now... Why when we have a sucessfull british version still running? At least with the other US movie, Doctor Who had been off air for a few years, but when a perfectly great version is still going currently leave it be. I'm not going to say that USA could not pull of a intresting version of the show but given the past history of british shows being remade over their... It does not look promising.

The British version of Firefly will star John Barrowman as Mal, Sophie Okonedo as Zoe, Simon Pegg as Wash, Sean Bean as Jayne, Michelle Ryan as Inara, Karen Gillan as Kaylee, Richard Ayoade as Book, Arthur Darvill as Simon, and Emma Watson as River [small](I'm sorry, Summer, I'm so sorry)[/small]. All the American colloquialisms will be replaced with English ones and all the references to Chinese culture will be replaced with Welsh. All the allusion to the Wild West will be replaced with a more Robin Hood style. And only then could British audiences really enjoy it in the same way that Americans have.

Heh, I'd watch that and I'm Australian.

Remember that episode where Maldwyn Reynauld punches Earl Atherton who just called Inara a "trollop", who then challenges him to a tourney? Mal is caught by surprised when he's expected to joust. It all resolves with hilarious results.

I'm sure this has been posted but thread is TL;DR

i'm sure in the thing I read somewhere that they were going to make him an ACTUAL doctor, incase people questioned his title. . .

sorry but theres no way anyone would shame the doctor's name by giving him a gun
