Here?s the new thread rule, nobody comment on anyone's grammar/spelling I honestly think that people who do are just mini trolls. I will fix the OP seeing as everyone is so offended by it but you all should seriously calm down.

Mostly American (Firefly, Lost, Dexter, True Blood (Don't judge me)), but British T.V. has a few awesome shows (Dr. Who anyone??)

Well unless your not American.

Well giving it more thought... I'm mixed on it. I lean more towards British because I'm a Brit and I like dry humour. However America has UFC, TUF, Family Guy and House... so it's hard to pick.

American shows have nothing on British shows:

Skins
The IT Crowd
Red Dwarf
Outnumbered
Mock the Week
QI
8 out of 10 Cats
Top Gear

Plus we have Dave. Does the US have Dave?

...seriously, do they?

I'd say... British TV has great comedy (which includes everything from Allo Allo to Monty Python to Top Gear). America has great series like The Wire and The Soprano's.

Both have shite stuff, too.

Dr. Who
QI
Red Dwarf
Spaced
Top Gear
The Office
Extras
Green Wing
Fawlty Towers
The Young Ones
Father Ted
The IT Crowd
Blackadder
The Thick of It
Mock the Week
Monty Python

That is all. Personally, the only US shows that even come close to the steller work the BBC and Channel 4 (for the most part) does is House, Dexter, Arrested Development, 30 Rock and Firefly. (And lets face it, the best thing about House is Hugh Laurie, and he's very much British)

I haven't counted any animations, because I think they deserve their own catagory.

Spot the odd one out here.

One of these has atrociously predictable, lazy writing and does not belong in a list beside the other three. That's right, it's My Family.

The Wire
The Shield
Boston Legal
Deadwood

When American tv is done well, it's done really frickin' well! We don't have anything close to the scale and quality of these series.

In my blunt opinion of the two with A COUPLE of my favorites:

US Pros:
- Dramas (Deadwood, Breaking Bad)
- Cartoons (Simpsons, South Park)

UK Pros:
- Documentaries (David Attenborough alone is more than a couple of examples)
- Comedies (QI, Peep Show)

Huh... erm... dam thought pros would help me decide. On the con side US adverts, news and day time soaps piss me off big time so I'm slightly going more towards UK as a result. I find US adverts patronizing (don't get me wrong the UK does that to), soaps BEYOND cheesy and the US seems to barely acknowledge non-US events and relishes in fear.

One interesting thing is many praise House, which brings together US and UK qualities, US drama with UK cynic comedy.

All I'm saying is I'm so patriotic that I would never even think of watching another country's TV. That way I know American TV is the best.

British TV > American TV.

However, there is one notable exclusion, and that's The Office US.

I generally think Britain has better comedies(they've all been mentioned), and I used to love Doctor Who back when it was good(thanks for ruining THAT for me Moffat -_-).

On the other hand, American crime dramas are pretty good, shows like CSI, NCIS and Law and Order. Their cartoons are also far superior. Does Britain even have any cartoons?

some people are better at some things more than others, for example i am good at scientific and mathematical problems, written english isnt my forte although i still enjoy a good discussion,i would consider myself smart, not particularly good at english (or french XD) but this 40-60% of americans are morons.
I try not to be a grammar nazi, but please put spaces after punctuation. It requires little English knowledge and makes your posts far easier to read. Also, it's safe to say the majority of people are morons. Most Yanks are morons. Most Brits are morons. Most everyone is a moron.

I think almost all shows on TV suck no matter which country they're from, so I can't pick a favorite. I watch the shows I find entertaining, like Stargate Universe and Doctor Who, without really thinking about where they're made. So I guess I pick both.

British TV, but I'm probably bias. I guess I don't get American humour, I can not stand the whiny sort of American accent either Family Guy and all that is funny because it's so ironic.

I don't watch it much, but since we have Doctor Who and QI over here, I say we win.

I love Scubs and Friends, Family Guy and South Park, but I'm choosing british because: TheInbetweeners, Mock The Week, Russell Howard's show, Fone/Facejacker, Life on Mars. Also we don't take the american best shows, like Scrubs and South Park, and make our own, far, shittier version. *cough*LifeonMars,RedDwarf,TheOffice...*cough*
