I'm thinking of getting one of these games on my mac, and I'm not sure which I should get:

Minecraft: The playground with exploding green monsters, everyone loves it, $13 dollars or so

Amnesia: The survival horror game, famous for the brown pants you get after playing, $20.

Which one should I get?

EDIT: just tried to play the free version again...makes firefox crash...just throwing that out there.

EDIT 2: So many people are saying Minecraft...but it's pushing me towards Amnesia.
:D

Minecraft would last longer.

That's the only reason I'd need to pick it over the other.

Im tempted to buy Amnesia, simply because it is such a good game. However, I know I will never play it because I was terrified of the demo.

Minecraft is addictive, long lasting and cheaper.

I got amnesia for cheap in the sale, around 7.50, so maybe wait for another one?

That said, I much prefer it to minecraft.

If you want a lasting game buy Minecraft. I have at least 50h in that game already and still counting, because we are building a huge castle together with friends.

Amnesia - only bought, but have never played it. I read it last for about 7h (if you have the guts) but then you have little interest to play it again.

So..my vote in this case goes for Minecraft.

Here's another Poll: The Sims, or Modern Warfare 2?

You're talking about two COMPLETELY different games here. Get the one that's more your thing.

Play the Amnesia Demo. If you like what you see then get it.

Minecraft has a certain taste to it, and I'm going to say this now, I'm not really that big on Minecraft. I've got it, I bought it, I have the account and everything, but I'm still not that big on the game. I made myself a tower that only god himself could mock, but I felt unsatisfied. I had lava pouring from the sides into a moat where sheep would frolic and burn but still I didn't feel like I was enjoying myself or gaining anything. It is addictive, I'll give it that though.

Calumon: Maybe you should make me in it! :D

I played Minecraft before, and that was good too
That should be enough, you should decide for yourself. I would feel really bad if I said get x and you liked y better.

It depends what you want. Also it depends on how scared you get because if your easily scared amnesia will take alot of time (trust me youll want to come off if you are scared easily). Also they are completely different. I have both of these games if you want a first person psychological horror game then go but if you want something that requires alot of imagination and alot of effort go for minecraft! Hope this helps

Amnesia, one of the best Horror games I've seen.

Also Minecraft isn't as good as the Minecultists make it out to be (for every minute you spend constructing that doom-fort you'll spend 5 digging in a random direction in the hope you accidentally stumble into a cave/resources/both, a bloody metal/mineral detector would be nice Notch!)

Amnesia, for one simple reason:

Minecraft will eat your life.

Or so they say. I call it Minecrack for that very reason. But really, if you think you will enjoy both games, get Amnesia first. Minecraft is only in beta now, so by playing Amnesia and then getting Minecraft, you'll be on the more advanced Minecrack, so you won't have to wait for as many updates. That way, you'll never get bored. Also, if you play Minecraft first, you'll never end up playing Amnesia. Ever. You'll always mean to, but never get around to it, because you have to finish your floating doom fortress or whatever it is that people make in there.
