I was thinking recently that it would be cool for the Escapist to release an App as I find it quite awkward to navigate the site on my Ipod Touch. I then started to think a little more in depth and thought that beyond that, they could add some new stuff that would be useful. For instance I take an hour and a half train journey each way every other weekend. And I thought it would be cool if I could download some of the text based content to access offline. Although I don't think I would bother getting it if you had to pay as I don't think it would be worth it.

I understand that perhaps they wouldn't be able to include the video's in that as currently it is only possible to view the video's on an ipod if you're a member of the Pub Club. Although I don't know whether you can on internet enabled phones and on androids. So they may keep it that way in order to add something else that people like me on Ipods are tempted into the Pub Club by.

So my question, fellow Escapists is: If the Escapist released an app, what would you be prepared to pay for it (if at all) and what they could include in it.

I would quite like one, it would make life easier and would mean I wouldn't need to use up a stupid amount of my internet allowance loading pages to get to the one I want.

I've often wondered why they don't have one, and I'd be willing to pay a (reasonable) price for it.

You can watch the videos online using android. Maybe we could get an app with the videos then! Haha!

I really like the idea! If anyone on the escapist team knows anything about this kind of stuff I don't even think that it would be to hard to fix. If it worked really well I would even consider paying for it.

I use a thing that you whippersnappers may not have heard of. They're called computers, and they're pretty damn good. Maybe not as flash as you eye-telephones, but they do the job well.

Wow, you carry a computer around with you everywhere you go?

OT:Yes. That is all.

Only problem I have with using this site on my phone is the zoom is messed up, it's too far out to read anything or click on any links properly, so yea some sort of app would be kinda useful I suppose, or maybe even just a mobile-friendly version of the current site.

I already access the forums via the Internet Explorer installed on my Windows based cell phone. I have flash on it as well, so although I have never tried, I assume I could stream videos from it as well.

What it sounds like is, even though my phone is over 2 years old, it is still better than your newfangled iPhone. Yeah, I don't need Apple in my life.

I'd get it, yeah. It'd be a lot of fun, I think. ESCAPIST STAFF, ARE YOU LISTENING?

It really could help an income of money. PubClub really is for regulars who are willing to drop $20, while an app could be for anyone who likes a certain article or video series, if priced correctly.

Navigating the site on my iPod Touch takes so long, since the front page has to load every picture, advertisement, link, recent thread, etc. An app would make it so much more fluent.
