How would skiing, bowling, or going to the arcade help vent anger?

Personally, i'd deal with it in private.
Just doing what you enjoy. You'd be surprised what some people do to help them get rid of anger.
Doing somethign physicially demanding is very settling, especially if it's agerssive like skiiing, snowboarding, surfing, bungee jumping etc. It removes your mind from when and where you are athere is no room in your mind for anything other than serenity within your skull.

I'd say a mix between both is healthiest, yes it helps to be able to clear your mind but sometimes you need to face your emotions rather than force them aside, and we can't all afford to treck up the slopes everytime we have a blue with someone :(

Funny there's so many votes for 'private', really. Anger is an emotion and emotions are used to ensure you don't stray too far from your 'path'. If you're angry at something or someone you'll need to let them know to change whatever it is you're angry about, to get back in proper balance. On the other hand, some anger is completely needless and unfair, which is why I'm saying "Both, to some degree".

Go troll a message board. I went through a phase where I got angry a lot and that always made me feel better. I don't do that anymore, though. For some reason right after i started smoking pot I stopped getting angry at stuff, and the world was a much more enjoyable place. It's probably a coincidence.

Sounds like you need a hobby to channel that anger or a hug, but god knows im not touching you so just go out break some stuff for a while (in a legal way please). Either that or get into rugby, football, boxing, or just pick fights.
Aw... I wanted a hug... :'(

By the way, thanks for all of the suggestions. Really interesting to see how people think about things.

You should try not being angry. Its the best solution. But to answer your actual question, privately, with one trusted friend, some chains and belts, and a jagged knife. Maybe some towels.

Probably a good combination of both would be best.

Just don't do what I do and punch walls. Hurts the knuckles and scares the cats. >.<
Punching walls hurts your knuckles?! You obviously need to do some knuckle crunches and knuckle-ups.

Personally, I deal with bad emotions by going on an eating binge, and for obvious reasons I prefer to do that in private.

Of course, it's always awkward later in the day when I'm bloated and once more happy and someone comes home and is like, why are half the boxes in the pantry gone except for one piece down at the bottom??

Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to do that too, but I realized that my parents would make me get a job early so I could pay for the food that was eaten...

I used to draw pictures of things that irritated me...my favorite one was of a classmate. I had him impaled, cut up, on fire, bleeding, chewed through, missing an eye, needles and thread in a cheek, a hatchet in the neck, and some other stuff going on there, too. These drawings actually did help me calm down.

I bottle it all up and harness it's force for something later on. Yay for crippling emotional damage!

I find screaming higher then your vocal chords can manage an excellent way to express tension. You put a tremendous about of effort into it, the noise is very muted and crackly, and you feel exhausted afterward.

There. I fixed most of your post. I'm a little worn out now... Think I might collapse.

Grammar Nazis have it rough, no?

Seriously though, I would do that, but... I'm kinda 16... so...
