Poll: Anime? what is that?

Well, I've been recommended quite a few anime (most of which I have given a shot) and I have to say that I have only like 1 and a half of them. The one I liked was Code Geass but the second season wasn't nearly as good (it had a great ending though). The half was the the first season of Death Note. The second season was shit.

My friend who often rants at me about anime is now ranting to me about how I must watch Attack on Titan. Can anyone tell me based off the one and a half animes that I have liked whether or not I would like this one?

Edit: My answer was no. If it's in my face all of the time I'd probably stop using this site. If there was a forum section devoted to it, go nuts.

well i'm not going to push anything on you, that's not how you will start to like anime. Code Geass is very different from Attack on Titan. Oh sure there are moments of intriguing and suspense, but not nearly as much as in Code Geass. the first season of Attack on Titan just ended and nothing was really resolved. so based on that I don't think you would like it... But it is really up to you.

If you think you have it bad stateside finding out about new Anime releases (or even getting to watch them on any TV service!) then try the UK - we're an Anime backwater over here.

Despite the lack of purchase availability in many of our retail outlets and the practical non-existence of Anime on our TV networks I do manage to watch a reasonable amount when I can. To give you an example of how far behind we can be though, I've only just managed to get through Dragonaught: The Resonance, Darker than Black 2, and season 1 of the Gyver reboot. I think the most up-to-date thing I watched recently was Evangelion 2.22

Back to the OP's point though, yes, I'm all for Anime reviews getting attention again on the Escapist. Hell, we got good ol' Lisa Foiles back so why not getting our Anime reviews back too? Especially since much of gaming and film culture at the moment is being influenced by Anime in some form. Seems like a good fit to me.
