Yea no. There are a few that I liked, but not many. And even the one's I did like I stopped liking after about 3 seasons of it.
this isnt a hate thread, im just trying to see if everyone has the same thoughts on anime as me, or if the greater part of the internets likes animes. Im just curious, and im pretty sure that this is what the forums were meant to be used for.Pi_Fighter said:

...Cartoons are animated drawings. Heck, you can apply the term to comic characters and, yes, simple drawings. A cartoon-ish drawing's called a cartoon.grimm128 said:

Some people like anime, some people don't, that's all fine, but when you ask a question and give choices of awnsers, try to give neutral awnsers that reflect the opinions of the people who will awnser instead of a bloated yes choice like you did. Anime's a genre all of its own. You can't really define it within a small box. If you don't see the appeal of it in entirety because it "looks like a cartoon", then you're generalising on the basis of visual style and attaching emotional burdens to that style.
If you don't like it, that's up to you, but I'll just point out that some of it is incredibly adult and can be very profound, so you can't just "grow out of it" in the same sense you can children's cartoons.
Try Ghost in the Shell, for example. It is more complex than any Hollywood movie, and the themes behind it are both very deep and quite prophetic, like an animated Orwellian story with very contemporary ideas of technology and spirituality.
