You have your opinion, that's fine. Some people like anime, some people don't, that's all fine, but when you ask a question and give choices of awnsers, try to give neutral awnsers that reflect the opinions of the people who will awnser instead of a bloated yes choice like you did. An awnser like: "I like anime" would have been more appropriate imo.

Personally I like, but I'm not a fan. It's different than what we always watch and that's what I like about it.
yeah, i changed it... it was kinda bloated. More importantly, i realized i oculd just as easily change the highest voted thing to 'I EAT DICKS' just saying.

anyhoodles, thanks for the great response

There's a thing called the Animation Age Ghetto. Cartoons tend to be thought of as only for kids. That's obviously not true. Anime is an art form in the way that movies and comic books are an art form.

I like anime, but just not as much as used to. There are certain series I stay loyal to (like the one my avatar hails from) but some animes I would just rather read the manga counterparts to. Saves me time.

Anime, in general, hasn't been very good in a while. I'm talking about original shows, not manga adaptions. Still, I do enjoy watching some of the new shows like Darker than Black and Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann.

So to answer your question. Yes I do like anime. Not as much as I used to though.

Anime is so popular because there is no comparable form of entertainment in the West. Like an organism it has spread so effectively because it has no competition. Thanks to Disney cartoons are regarded as children's entertainment; thanks to... devout Christians and that fucking hack from the medical community comics rapidly went the same way.

The other attraction is because it's "free" to get. Fansubbers seem to feel that it is their inalienable right to publish copyrighted works without permission simply because they add a subtitle track. Whatever the morals of this (I won't go into it) the fact remains that anime is very easy to get, with entire databases like Baka Updates existing simply to document what has been released for a particular series, who has released it and where to find it.
