Crackdown and Lost Planet.

Bust seriously, how the hell do you lose a planet?
Get drunk and lose the cocktail napkin that Blonde hottie wrote the coordinates on... WORST. DAY. OF MY LIFE!
You didn't lose it, you set it on fire and tried to light your cigar with it. Ended up burning your fingers.

Although you did get drunk, and how.

Rogue Trooper if you can find it. Been playing it recently, it's a little easy on 'normal' difficulty, but otherwise pretty fun. You play as a bluskinned G.I. named Rogue who, with his talking helmet, backpack and gun must fight his way through enemy lines on Nu-Earth. Your only really have your main gun and a pistol. A knife for stealth kills, and a variety of gadgets, sentry gun, holo decoy etc. Grenades and such too. You can collect scrap off dead enemies and from...piles of scrap, to manufacture ammo and upgrades with your backpack, the aptly named 'Bagman'. Your main weapon who's name is 'Gunnar' is a rifle. He can be affitted with a silencer, mortar or underbarrel shotgun etc. Or deployed as the above mentioned sentrygun. Helm is your...helmet. He can hack things. Otherwise, a good buy imo ;D

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 are pretty decent third-person shooters. I've never played the Windows version, though, so I'm not sure how good of a port it is.

There's an old one for the PC called Enter The Matrix, it's quite a challenging game. Never actually finished it but I thought it had pretty much everything an action game needed, not only shooting but also martial arts, driving etc.
No, you don't get to play Neo.

Gears of War is cool, and I heard a lot of people liked Lost Planet.
No, no it isn't. Enter the matrix? sorry, but its shit. and really not hard.

Mount and Blade might classify, if you chose to use archery/crossbows...

Either way, you should play it for the sheer awesometasticism of it all. Especially if you enjoy the historical-esque feel.

i find it funny that there's actually a genre differentiation for what is essentially a camera option shift.

I had a good time with Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Great storyline and great gunplay. It's a little short, but since it plays like a blockbuster movie you'll go back to it time and time again.

Game Called "El Matador"

Got canned by reviews for being a max payne wanna-be... But so what???
Its a good game with good gameplay and plot. Guns are good and feel realistic (pistols will kill the same as machine guns)

Speaking of which, Whats with 'Bullet - time', Can a game possible include bullet time without being called a max payne rip off?
