Guitar: pretty good, but I can't play wicked fast solos or nuthin'. Luckily, I don't want to.
Voice: fairly good, if I stay in practice.
Bass: competent.
Piano: just the basics.
Drums: rank amateur, pretty terrible actually.

Electric guitar is my favorite instrument to, like, listen to and stuff, tho I play a lot of acoustic (not singer-songwritery folky stuff, mind you - rockin' acoustic!) As far as the "best" instrument, it'd have to be drums/percussion or voice, cuz banging' on shit and howlin' about shit has always been around, always been an integral part of being human. All the fancypants specialized instruments are great, but if they disappeared one day, we could still hit stuff with other stuff and yell like crazy people.

Guitar, bass, and trombone. I can play the keyboard and African talking drum by ear, but I can only read music for the guitar, bass, and trombone. I own about a million instruments. I think I buy them just to have because I don't bother trying to learn them.

Oh dude, I literally just started to learn to play it, and it is AWESOME!!!
Sweet. I've never had the chance to play one, myself. Are you finding it hard to move from bass to stick?
A little yeah. Since the fingering is all along the neck, and consists almost exclusively of hammer-ons and pull-offs, its different, but nothing a little practice won't fix.

Bass guitar, Drum set and assorted percussion instruments, and currently working on learning the Chapman Stick.

And for people who've never heard of this wonderful instrument, its basically a Bass and a Guitar smushed together.
I have suddenly decide I want to play the chapman stick.
Where in the UK can I get one?
(ive looked on ebay, local music stores, and google product search, and I can't find one)
Sorry dude, I live in the US, and got mine from a local music store. I'd think that Craigslist might be your best bet.

Where's the Acoustic guitar option, I do like the electric for gigs, but acoustic's nicer to play.

I play the drums, been doing so for the last five years and have recently started a band with some friends. I would like to learn guitar one day though.

Cello and piano. Took my Grade 8s a looooong time ago, haven't got any other exam standards since then to quote. I also sing, though not to any real level.

I'd vote cello above. It's a fantastic instrument - in many ways, it's the one closest to the human voice, and you can express a much greater range of emotions, and express them more vividly, than on any other instrument I know.

Drummer, Bassist, Singer, Guitarist (electric and acoustic), basic piano skills, harmonica.

I think of all of them the guitar is the best. It is the most versatile without needing the sort of dedication required for piano or similar. (Not to say that I haven't put thousands of hours work in to be good, but other people can play just fine without needing years of practice)

I'm awesome at Vocals and Bass.

I play good - Guitar (Electric/steel and classical style), Drums, Double Bass and Harmonica.

I can sort of play the Piano, Sitar, Bagpipes and Recorder.

Next on my list of instruments to learn is the Violin/Viola, Shakuhaci (Japanese Flute), Saxaphone, Cello and Clarinet...

I play trumpet, tuba and electric guitar.

Among guitar and trumpet I have no real favourite, both are amazing instruments that makes me happy. Tuba on the other hand, do I only play because we need one in the orchestra and I was forced to play something else than trumpet when I had braces for 1,5 years.

I sing in choir and play piano. But I voted violin, chiefly because I am in love with the Scheherezade solo. <3

also WHO VOTED VIOLA AS THE BEST INSTRUMENT? o_o!
ME. SCREW YOU!
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV SUCKS

(I'm a Viola Player :3)

EDIT: by the way, to whoever was arguing about range: the French Horn has a larger accessible range than the Cello. As does the piano, harp, and guitar. But then, range means nothing, really.
GAAAASP YOU DID NOT JUST DISS RIMSKY-KORSAKOV. But you did own up to it, so I suppose you are a worthy opponent. BUT BACK TO YELLING! HOW DID YOU BECOME A VIOLIST?
Ahh, I'm only pulling your leg. Scheherezade is awesome. I'm actually playing in a performance of the whole work on tour in Italy later this year :L
And HELL YES I owned up to playing THE BEST INSTRUMENT EVER!

Lies, btw. Viola actually isn't that awesome: it's not the right size for its pitch so has trouble projecting. Most composers realise this, so they always give us boring parts and nobody writes us any solo music, so we just steal the Bach Cello Suites etc. :3

And originally, I became a Viola player because I auditioned for one of the National Youth Orchestras on both Violin and Viola and only got in on Viola, back when I was very small. So I play it by default, really :L
