Yes. I (like everybody else) was impressed with the first trailer. The gameplay trailer actually made me more excited. My best friend and I have been waiting for a game like this. I'm not gonna pre-order it or anything, but I'll definitely pick it up eventually.

So here is the gameplay, how someone could consider this a rip-off of Left 4 Dead is COMPLETELY beyond me. The only thing I see similar are the zombies and special zombies. The game looks setup more like Fallout to me (with it's xp system, similar quest system, and open world environment).

Maybe in a bargain bin or Steam sale, or perhaps rent... Doesn't look like a day 1 buy, though.

I probably won't afford it when it comes out, but I'll get it when I can. Seems like just the game for me

This game has yet to catch my interest beyond a well done trailer. Nothing is about to change that barring stellar reviews and personal recommendations from friends of mine.

I'm always interested in a zombie game but Dead Island has not interested me so far. I may get it after a while if it turns out to be good.

I don't think it has much in common with L4D except for the fact that they're both about a zombie apocalypse.

completely agree with, the fighting looks to be a similar style and the horror will probably be the same.

I think it's a little more like Far Cry 1 since it's in a tropical setting.

The video has much on which I gripe....the driving is like Far Cry 2

The melee combat (even the guns sorta) remind me Condmned 2

Left 4 Dead...
read below

Details about specific in-game enemies have been sparse, but a few enemies have been confirmed. These are "The Suicider", a large enemy with boils upon its body, heavily disfiguring it; "The Butcher", a humanoid-shaped man with long hair, and missing both arms from the elbow, with only bones sticking out of the sockets; "The Ram", a large man wrapped in a strait-jacket with a mask covering his mouth and finally "The Drowner", another large disfigured enemy covered in slime with large red eyes.

Also as a personal...

WHY CANT WE HAVE A GAME WHERE WE CREATE THE CHARACTER FOR A ZOMBIE SURVIVAL!!!

It has the potential to completely reimagine what online coop can be from a console perspective. For that reason alone I am willing to give it a try. I consider it a combination of dead rising and L4D. It is what I wanted left 4 dead to be. This is the game I am more excited about that anything else this year.

I am hoping that it is like what I wanted Borderlands to be, A cooperative experience that requires strategy and teamwork and creativity.

It looks pretty darn good. I'll be picking it up upon release. The gameplay looks like hours of zombie bashing fun

i dont get it. what were people expecting? the trailer showed people getting attacked by zombies on a tropical island and that appears to be what the game is about. i was surprised the game was in first person but other than that the game appears to be pretty much exactly what i expected. will i get it on release day? no, but i was never going to. it still looks like a solid game and my expectations are as high now as they have ever been

i still loved borderlands though. i played most of it by myself because my internet connection sucked, but what i did play of multiplayer reminded me of my diablo 2 days...except in first person and with significantly more guns

Dead Island looks pretty ambitious. In what other games can you roam around a beautiful open world island killing everything in sight?

You know, I saw the gameplay video and it doesn't look bad. Kind of like Just Cause 2 with zombies and co-op. I could dig that.

I really want to try a demo.
More like Fallout : Pacific with Zombies. Was far too realistic to be Just Cause....

I'd probably get it sooner or later. From what i've seen, it looks like it will become pretty... monotonous

Will I get it?
HELLS TO THE YES!!!!And even if its not too good, i'm still gonna finish it.But it seems to be a very good game, and I like the focus on melee weapons instead of guns.If the experience system it uses is good, then that will put it above other games on my 'must get' list.

I'm really not sure what kind of game anybody was expecting based on the original trailer, to be honest.

What I've seen of the gameplay (1 trailer) leads me to think that the game has potential, but I'm not putting in a pre-order for it. I want to see what the reviews have to say.
This, I wanna find out if the game is any good before I sink my cash into buying a copy of it. Kinda reminds me of a mix of the Left 4 Dead games and Just Cause 2 so hopefully it should be good. :D

But again, I'm waiting till some reviews come out to hear what they say about the controls and what not.
