Valve is so awesome because they take their time. This is exactly what distingushes Valve from other game companies. Enough games have been ruined because they were thrown on the market too early.
Sure it would be great to have them right now, but that's the price you have to pay for good quality and the reason why I am very sceptical about Blizzards announcement to realease games faster.

No, because there are plenty of other games to keep me occupied and Valve still makes quality games, so I couldn't care less about their release schedule.

Considering within the last 4 years they have Developed/Published:

Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Left4Dead
Left4Dead2
Alien Swarm
and Portal 2

I'd say they are doing better than most people give credit. They already have 2 games lined up (DOTA 2 and CS:GO), So I think people should just calm down.

GODDAMMIT!
I'm not huge on the whole EP3 thing...but I read this at 6am...and I laughed too hard for me to go to bed now....thanks dick..but do cut him some slack...do you think he could lose weight with the snack room they have there....HAVE YOU SEEN IT...omfg if that was in my house I would die...(both of happiness and diabetes...which I don't have yet.)

OP...breath man...play Bastion...smile at how awesome it is...DOTA 2 will be out soon...so will Skyrim...and Saint's row the third. We have things to play with so we can wait...and if you don't want to play with those games....well...if your a guy figure something else out to play with....find a Spartan race to do...I got one in 2 weeks and it's keeping me occupied.

I'd rather they take their sweet time and come out with a great game, than hurry it up and release something crap.

Patience is a virtue!

They have a life, I have a life. Both intersect when Valve releases a new game. If the game is good, they intersect a bit longer.

I don't want to invest time and breath into getting angry at developers release dates, especially if they are not announced yet. This is be entertainment, not heart surgery.

I could care less about episode 3 because I've never played Half-life 2.

I play TF2 and Left 4 Dead, that's all I need from Valve.

I sure as hell won't criticize any developer that takes some time to make really good games.

Only Valve and Blizzard make really good games, so the wait is always worth it.

Look i know we should allow Valve all the time to make sure all their game are of the utmost top quality, but i think i'm beginning to suffer from Valve Time fatigue syndrome. It just feels like they're dragging along with Episode 3, and I'm almost certain the Portal 2 DLC will be delayed. As well as that, they have 2 other game releases they're doing with DoTA 2 and CS:GO and that's fine, but i honestly think it's time Valve started moving towards getting a better hold of their dev cycles. I mean ok they tried this with L4D and that went down like a tonne of bricks falling on a small duck, with the whole boycott, but it's just driving me nuts at the moment.

Edit: I am in no way going apeshit or anything, nor a dig at Valve.
How about you stop trying to dictate what games Valve make because you aren't their boss.

Seriously Valve can make whatever game they want, the most sensible thing to do would be to stop caring. Stop sitting at the edge of your seat expecting them to do what you want and start enjoying the games that Valve want to make. If HL3 never comes then so be it, but I guarantee that they'll still make plenty of great games.

I don't mind if it takes a long time, but I just wish they'd show us something to make the wait more bearable. Even concept art or a CG story trailer to pick over would be great.

Nope, I just forget about Valve and focus on other games. When Episode 3 comes out, I'll be happy. Until that time, I'm not concerned.

Whilst all these games may have been released in the last 4 years, I think it's a stretch to say that they were all developed in the last 4 years.

Well the only Valve games I like are L4D and TF2 so I don't really care about what Valve makes next and how long the game takes to be made.

I can understand why you feel frustrated but from the way I see it, Valve needs to make a game that will be loved by many, so they need to make sure that the game comes out perfect, and remember that Valve also has stockholders that need to be pleased.

I stopped iving a fuck about Episode 3 when Left 4 Dead 2 came out. Constant updates to L4D2 and TF2 have made me happy with them.

Not getting the new DotA or CS though.

How can people wait 14 years for a Duke Nukem game and barely complain (especially when it turns out to be shit) yet wait only 4 years and do nothihng but complain? It seems all anyone talks about when they talk about Valve is the lengthy new release of their new game...

I'm not having a dig or anything, I just find it bizarre. Is it because Duke Nukem took so long it became comical whenever anyone spoke of it?

OT: There are plenty of other games that are keeping my attention for me to not think about it, so I'm not overly fussed.

Not really. I've got other games to hold me over.

Although, I am getting frustrated that November isn't getting here fast enough.
Dammit Skyrim, hurry up!
