I liked the single-player aspect of the beta. I'd like some more stuff thrown in, like maybe spaceship battles too(hey, everyone gets their own ship, and these alien things that you fight appear to have space travel too, there's no reason why it wouldn't fit), and for the PvP to be a little more than just arena fights down the line, but for the most part, I'm pretty excited. From the beta, It didn't look like it was about to revolutionize shooters or anything, but I think it looks to still be really good.

I don't like multiplayer shooters, so nope. Although I must admit I'm curious about what the fuss is all about.

Putting my chips on The Pre-Sequel instead. I do hope Destiny does well, though.

Pre-ordered, played the Beta and yes, definitely going ahead with the full game. It may not be groundbreaking, but it's damn solid and very fun.

Nope. I played the beta and was mostly unimpressed. I like where the game might be going, but if all the interesting stuff happens off of Earth, I think the beta provided too small a sample size.

Only if it comes to PC. Otherwise, nah. Tempted to try it on my PS3, but I prefer to play FPS games on my PC.

Not coming to PC, so no.

Also Bungie is the patron saint of mediocre games in my eyes.

It is saddening to see 18% of votes saying they are pre-ordering it. What is wrong with people?

Pre-ordering has done nothing but damage this industry and absolutely no sense in the digital era. Hell, even with hard-copies there is no chance they will run out. The mindset "well I'm buying it on release no matter what, so might as well buy it now" is absolutely poisonous and literally begging publishers to exploit that again and again.

Some people just don't learn. Doesn't matter how much you're blown-away from trailers or beta gameplay, is it that hard to do the game industry a huge favor and just stop pre-ordering shit??

I'm not telling people to not buy the game, by all means please buy it! But WAIT FOR RELEASE, it won't kill you! You will be indirectly helping improve the quality/state of newly-released games (without lifting a finger) by making publishers wonder "hmm why aren't people pre-ordering? Maybe we need to step things up since people don't trust us anymore".

Nah, it's a game that's whole shtick has been "It's Halo, BUT ON PLAYSTATION!" from the very beginning and that's just not something that appeals to me, not while I still haven't played Dark Souls II, GTAV, or that awesome looking Jojo's fighting game.
I'll wait until it's been out for a while, when the price drops and some people and critics have had the chance to formulate informed opinions about it, then I'll decide if it's worth my time or not.

Should add a maybe option. The fact it's rated T sounds a bit weird. It should be matured themed for the story, are those alien races you are fighting just evil monks, I mean one of them has a government.

Maybe some of the people who pre-ordered played the beta, like me, were legitimately impressed be it and made their decision based on that. Unlike so many games with pre-order bonuses this one actually let people play it beforehand to see what the game was like. I played the beta, thought it was incredibly fun and pre-ordered based on that. What right do you have to say that decision is stupid? None, it's their money, their decision. I personally view pre-orders as completely optional, if I like the bonus I'll go for it, if I don't I won't.It also has a lot to do with faith in the game's developer. I have faith in Bungie to deliver a quality experience. If you don't, or just hate pre-orders, then that's your problem. But don't try to shame people because they have different buying habits than you.

Nope, played Halo already and didn't care for it, but kudos to Bungie for breaking the mould and trying to innovate. /sarcasm Stick with what you are mediocre at Bungie, is this the 4th or 5th time you released the same game? I am losing count.

No. No one is getting Destiny. Not even you, you're all going to wake up tomorrow morning and realize that Destiny was just part of a really long involved dream you've been having.

Bungie is going to release their Borderlands rip off and it's just going to sit on store shelves gathering dust while everyone goes outside and plays stick ball in the street.

Oh Wait most people here said nope? alright it's almost like a big name company can't get away with producing a generic rip off of someone else's game idea and hope to be successful!

Or maybe only the people who weren't interested clicked on the thread.

Bungie are one of the few companies that actually do over the top collectors edition, and limit their numbers. Which if you wanted one of those, unless you get lucky pre-order is the way to go. And to preempt your 'but who wants that crap!', collectors and fans do. Just like lots of people wouldnt be interested in something you or the next guy considers worthwhile, these things are entirely subjective.

Or maybe the escapist is a largely PC based community, and this is a console game.

I don't think the Escapist is largely a PC community.
But I guess that could be conformation bias, I don't typically go to PC centric threads so maybe I only see the console scrubs talking to each other.

Why would PC gamers come to a thread about a game they can't even play? Aren't there better things they could be doing with their glorious time? Like playing Paper's Please which my PC isn't strong enough to run...(I has a sad)

Have you read this thread? Most of the answers are variants of 'Its not coming to PC, so no.'

Some PC gamers like to 'send a message' that they're potential buyers who have been ignored. They tend to do it in the wrong places though.

Huh, that's cool I guess. I mostly just came here to make the silly comment about stick ball though.

from the outside it seems like combining Borderlands and Halo would be awesome, but of course triple A developers don't think so instead of taking the balance and mechanics of Halo and combining it with the soul and wit of Borderlands they opt to go the other way and take the grind from borderlands and combine it with the lifeless drab ascetic of Halo.

And it's going to get 10/10 reviews I just know it.

Yep and the waiting is starting to get annoying. Beta played how I almost expected it to play and I really enjoyed it. Tried some of the PVP too and I really enjoyed it. I usually hate PVP but I loved Halo's MP mode and the PVP in Destiny feels almost exactly similar.

Got the Ghost Edition pre-ordered too.
