Really there have always been good cartoons and bad cartoons. In ten or fifteen years the younger children are going to miss the bygone days of Chowder, Adventure Time, or Phineas and Ferb. Going back a lot of the shows we liked as children aren't even that good, not that there weren't good ones, mind you. Kids will like anything and we tend to remember those feelings rather than the actual quality of the show. This conversation comes up a lot in regards to movies and music, but really the quality of everything has, on average, remained the same. It's just a lot easier to see the bad stuff being produced now because it's still around. Only the good parts of the past tend to remain popular.
