Really there have always been good cartoons and bad cartoons. In ten or fifteen years the younger children are going to miss the bygone days of Chowder, Adventure Time, or Phineas and Ferb. Going back a lot of the shows we liked as children aren't even that good, not that there weren't good ones, mind you. Kids will like anything and we tend to remember those feelings rather than the actual quality of the show. This conversation comes up a lot in regards to movies and music, but really the quality of everything has, on average, remained the same. It's just a lot easier to see the bad stuff being produced now because it's still around. Only the good parts of the past tend to remain popular.

Not so much. A lot of our attachment was nostalgia.

There really are a lot of solid children's cartoons still out there. My friend showed me a bunch of them.

And I don't miss falling pianos. I miss running off a cliff, hovering in place, looking down, and then falling.
What are those good cartoons? I haven't watched cartoons in a long time, so don't know any good ones nowadays.

OT: I didn't miss the old cartoons until I saw the Megas XLR intro... Now I miss them.

Foghorn leg horn, he may have been rascist but he was great.
How was Foghorn racist? Or any more so than the rest of the world when he was made.
Go and call an african american boy with the same twang he uses. Then tell me how long it takes you to pick your jaw up off the ground.
I'd hardly call Foghorn racist, considering he was using that term in reference to other animals younger than himself. He spoke in a stereotypical Southern accent, he talked to everyone like that.

I think a lot of it has to do with nostalgia, but I do miss some of the older cartoons, like Rocko's Modern Life, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Cow and Chicken. Some of the newer ones are not that bad, My Little Pony is pretty good.

Besides, they still play Tom & Jerry, so I'm still happy.
