All I was pointing out was that because the Escapist pay money to run the site, that they can put whatever they want on it. So complaining about the background and advertising is in the end useless. Besides there are plenty of other sites that have forums on them.Ignignoct said:

I don't really care about the adverts. They've done it for loads of other stuff before (They even changed the logo for genre wars) and I just usually ignore it. Probablt helps I haven't seen Apocalypse Lane either so...
EDIT: I have seen it now. It's okay, but only one point made me laugh. The rest was random, but not funny.

I find the banner ad with the cat offensive and gross. Cats should retain all four legs. Any domestic pet with mutilation enters the "Dude, that's not funny" territory.

I hate any automatic advert anyway. It's invasive and I watch about 10 videos every other day. I don't want my Zero Punctuations and Unskippables starting with this each and every time.
I don't mind the adverts automatically unfolding after the video starts, because you can hit the ad's X button and be over and done with it.
But what's with the introducing ads? I was less irked about the TF2 Tourney ad, because that only lasted, like, 3 seconds.
But do they REALLY need the adverts to run automatically? I'm fine with just the [AD >] button at the bottom of my videos.
