Nope, but I do smile if something is exceptionally well done or clever. I also laugh if a joke is genuinely funny (to me, anyway).

One time I thought something on TV was going to use a really stupid cliche but they ended up avoiding it so I gave it a slow clap.

I don't understand the "I don't applaud if the person can't see me" argument. While I'm hardly going to leap from my seat and give a standing ovation to the television, I will occasionally clap at something extremely clever or impressive in the same way that I would laugh at something funny. It doesn't happen often though.

I applaud while or recovering from an intense amount of laughter sometimes.

I do applaud at the telly, mostly when watching the footy. Always get very drawn into the Liverpool and England games in order to applaud or shout abuse at the telly.

Let me see the glorious wonders of your TV treasure trove!!!

So much TV unwatched :'(
This. You know OP, the Daily Show has its own webpage where us international viewers can watch =( I've been trying to find the clip in question but it's hard. The date it aired please?

OT: Not that I can recall. Maybe when laughing really hard. But if I agree with something someone says on telly I generally nod and go, "Jolly good show old chap, Jolly good." Which is weird 'cos I'm not British. o_O

EDIT: I think I found it! Is it..... THIS ONE?? *pulls link out of hat*

I applaud all the time when I'm watching the Steelers play, but there are a number of times where I've had to applaud a show for cleverness and hilarity as well as very effective moments of characterization. The Daily Show gets many of the former and shows like Breaking Bad and Luther have gotten most of the latter recently.

I've done it before. Sometimes when I'm not paying attention I even get my social responses completely mixed up and raise my hands to clap when someone says hi.

...I'm normal!

On a number of occasions, usually followed by "Fucking yes", or "Fucking right, mate" or something along those lines.

Can't say I've ever felt stupid, it' just an automatic reaction.

I normally give a "we-hey!" or good hearty laugh at the TV if someone does something really awesome or funny. However the most awesome and funniest things are marked by also clapping. It's not applauding as such, just my way of showing extra appreciation for things.
