I think it's all pretty much acceptable up until the points where pants start coming off.
So long as people are secure in their sexuality it shouldn't really matter what level of affection is displayed between 2 heterosexual friends.

I don't realy know. It's all very circumstantial. I'd say mouth kissing is definitely going beyond just friendship between two hetero guys. Which would cast doubts on their status as hetero. Hand holding and cheek kissing, really depends on background.

Wait... this poll is kinda misleading. The question says how much is too much? So should I vote for the thing that I find brotastically weird? Or should I vote for the level of brodom that I find appropriate (i.e hugs)?

i'm missing the "depends on cultural setting"-option. while for you colonists it might be strange if two heterosexual men kiss, in certain nations, for example some north african ones, a kiss to the cheek is a usual gesture of greeting, similar to a handshake in the western hemisphere.
That was what my OP was about. The poll is just to see where this forum lands, seeing as many different cultures are represented here.

The thing which would be considered "weird" or inappropriate. I know it's not perfect, but it seems a bit late to redo it.

You left out "High Fives" on the poll, for the high five is the ultimate sign of brotherly support. Knuckle bumps show approval and satisfaction, also acceptable for a greeting, and hugs are just awesome because they're hugs, homies.

There is no line. It is whatever the two men feel comfortable with.
Pretty much this. So long as they're not doing something intrusive like moving their clasped hands in front of your camera when you're just trying to photograph the scenery, or standing in the middle of a busy sidewalk making out and occasionally shouting "We're not gay! Look at how not gay we are!", folks ought to mind their own business.

Of course, where I live, I think my view is rather in the minority...

I hate shaking peoples hands 'cos who knows what there hygene situation is like, they could have just been for a tinkle and not washed there hands.

Thats just me I think though.

I think two guys hugging is weird, aswell as that sports man thing were they slap each others ass or kiss each other (looking at you football/soccer).

I know MMA fighters/boxers kiss but thats more of a psych out than anything, there are a few funny ones on youtube were one has kissed the other only for a sucker punch to land on the jaw of the one who did the kiss.

Probably kissing, i would find that a bit odd.

i'm surprised that this poll has put hugging as the worst one. what's wrong with a bro hug?

I find kissing on the cheek weird for any reasons other than romantic ones (or affection for younger children), so ima go with that.
Probably because of the British "No Touching" attitude.
Big fan of bro hugs though, with the right people.
I agree, due to my Own Personal Anti-social "No Touching" attitude. Bro hugs are fine on occasion.

I would say hugging is the most normal affection between heterosexual men that I've seen. Most of the people who are friends in my class hug eachother twice a day at least.

Edit Wait, the poll said what is too much? Crap! I voted hugging on that one. :S In that case, i would say kissing.

I'd say hugging and hand shaking, maybe hand holding...at the very extreme(and i mean extreme)kissing.

The poll is a bit confusing. I think most people voted for "what is acceptable".

Kissing on both cheeks is a customary form of congratulations (for birthdays or holidays) where I live, regardless of gender. Also the default among relatives.

Bro hugs are fine, but if two straight men are holding hands, all I'm going to wonder is the conversation that came before that.

I'm a straight male and I endeavour to always greeting people of both genders in an obnoxious and embarassing manner.

It's great!

If a guy's holding my hand, he better be saving me from falling to my death or helping me onto my feet.

Anything up to and including a bit of hand holding is all gravy between me and my lovers mates.
One of them even gives me a cheeky butt grab occasionally during hugs.
