I don't care for the small once or.. what are the called.. The once with like a ball body and really thin and long legs... Dandy long legs(?)... I think they are cute :D
The things you were talking about are Daddy Long Legs, they're not spiders. 6 legs and wings.
The spider you were talking about are most likely the harvester spider, so called because they were commonly found with their their freakishly long legs spread between crops around autumn time (harvest season)

;)

OT: I don't like them when their body is any bigger than my thumbnail, but I think that's rational. Oh, and harvester spiders are a bit yuck.

Any spider smaller than that, and I'm game.
Money spiders especially. I used to try and keep them as pets.
Oh yeah. Harvest spider you say?
...I think they are awesome. It tickles when the walk over your arm :D
YOU ARE SICK AND TWISTED
Good for you. :D
Oh you, Their are tones of them around here in the summer. (Not inside the house, but outside)
So why not let them walk a little on your arm. It is a odd feeling and they can not hurt you :3
They're creepy :(

Can't pick a vote as I can be scarred of them and think they are awesome at the same time. If I see one an it's starts running at my bear feet, I will move out the way pretty fast. But once I have got them in a glass to be safely deposited in the garden, I'm like 'oh look how big the fangs on that one is' etc.

I think they are so interesting that they get the reaction out of us much larger and should not feel threatened human beings. I mean really is there another creature that provokes such universal fear amongst human with such a large size difference in between? That to me is so cool.

I think spiders are wonderful. I mean, I wouldn't want to suddenly find one making its way up my leg without me knowing, but I wouldn't freak out if I saw one near me. I wouldn't mind holding or touching a pet spider. The big furry ones are cute. :3

I'm not scared of spiders, I just don't like them and I don't spare any that come within my living space.

Yeah, I am really disgusted by spiders. I can't think of any other bug or creepy pest that causes the same feeling of revulsion, though huge mounds of ants come close D:

I think it's the shape of the legs and the way they move, it's not even like most insects. And the web part adds another level of nasty. My house would get covered in spiders at night during the summer, and when I'd go outside late or early in the morning I'd always run into webs with spiders in the middle. So horrible.

I hate bugs. Hate them.
Well then it's a good thing that spiders are arachnids, not insects, isn't it?

I kid, I kid.

OT: I hate them, not a phobia because it's rather rational to hate something that can casue you pain and/or kill you.

The spiders that drop down and attempt to dive-bomb me when I'm laying face up, along with the ones as big as my hand OR LARGER, are to be wary of my foot.

Otherwise, hop on spiders. If you don't bite, you're welcome!

I don't mind spiders if they are stationary, but as soon as one starts moving I feel uncomfortable. I think it might be due to the fact that they move so fast and in what seems to be a completely random path.

I grew up in a house that loved spiders, and gladly kept them around. I haven't been afraid of spiders for over 12 years, even the nasty ones.

Small ones I don't mind (money spiders, and generally house spiders, long as I don't have to go near them)
Mid-sized ones I tend to avoid. These are the particularly large house spiders, anything with weird black/yellow/white/red markings and such. I won't go do far as to run away screaming, but if I see one running along the floor near me, it's a very quick "quick-pick-up-legs" until either it leaves sight or doesn't move for long either for me to make a break for it and slip away.
Large ones, like tarantulas and such, I won't even go hear unless they're behind something like glass (in a tank or whatever). And I don't care if your pet has been de-fanged and/or had its poison sacs removed, there is no F'ing way I'm getting close to those buggers!

If you want to know my irrational fear... it's bees and wasps, and hornets...
At home or such, I will liturally scoot away and even scramble to get out of a room if I see one, even to the point of squeaking loudly if it comes near me. If I'm at work, though my heart may be racing I tend to keep control of myself if there's one about (unless it comes near me, at which point I tend to move rather fast and flail)
As for why I'm this way I think it's because of the many times when, as a child with glasses, I had the damned things fly between my glasses and my eyes. Not a pleasent experience and I've had it happen multiple times in my life >.<

Aside from brown recluse and black widows I really don't care. I grew up surrounded by woods and spiders play a big part in the environment. Be respectful of nature, not fearful.

Its funny messing with people that are afraid of spiders

Yes, moderately. Anything bigger than a half dollar is scream-and-run inducing scary, anything smaller is just mildly icky.

Speaking of failed phobia labels, "Homophobia" technically means "Irrational fear of things remaining the same".
omg, actually?

That's hilarious that the meaning has been skewed so much.

OT: I dislike all small insects, including spiders. Not as bad as cockroaches though

It can still be irrational even if it's the norm. I mean, look at the relationship between Africans and Americans prior to the civil rights movement--that was what was popular, but anyone can tell you they were being batty.

Regardless, I'm not arachnophobic.

I responded to your poll with 'Yes very' because I am literally phobic of them, meaning I can't cope with a spider in the same room as me, If there is one I can't move and I can't take my eyes off it because the idea of looking away and looking back to see the spider gone will throw me into hysteria.
However I found your poll options strange. Considering your opening post I thought your options would be: Arachnophobic, Scared of spiders, Not scared of spiders.
