If there are any WoW players here that read the Blue Posts for the latest patch for World of Warcraft (4.0.1) you probably know that a lot of people are frustrated with the way Blizzard is handling the slew of complaints directed at them about the changes. Particularly the ones made to Tanks and Healers.

What do you guys think about Blizzard's attitude? Do you think that they are telling players off in the way they handle complaints? That they are basically saying that players are "doing it wrong" and that they need to follow the specific rotations designed by them?

-Edit-

Due to some people thinking I am agreeing with this opinion myself, I just want to point out that I don't really think that Blizzard is doing that bad. So I don't really share that opinion. As for the poll options I think that you need to take it a little bit more lightly. The options are actually quite simple :

1. Agree that Blizzard is wrong and hate them
2. Agree that Blizzard is wrong and not hate them
3. Disagree that Blizzard is wrong
4. Silly Hateful Answer
5. Silly Loving Answer

Nothing bad meant by the last option so relax.

So anybody who disagrees with you more than "don't really mind" is a mindless fanboy?

Some of their responses ot tanks / healers are good though.

"If DPS pull aggro by hittin the wrong target, it's justified and they're bad dps" for example, I'm pretty happy with their messages.

Yea dude, this is a pretty lopsided poll. How can we even take you seriously if you classify those who disagree with you and think the Blizzard patch changes are fine as "mindless fanboys whose opinion doesn't even matter"?

Please try not to insult the Escapist Community.

? no... I figure if you don't mind then you can choose "No, it's their game"...

and It's not MY opinion (didn't even vote yet) I'm just wondering what people think on the matter because quite a few people seem to think that the changes suck. Now if you read carefully my opening post. I will also like to point out that I never said that I was mad about anything. I remained objective only saying that "Some People" are not happy.

I'll add the "I don't care" option if you like but if you don't care i figure you shouldn't bother to vote at all...

I played WoW for about a year, and every time anything *at all* was changed, people would ***** and moan and complain. No matter what they change, people will be unhappy. As it almost always is it's the vocal few who complain. There are likely many many people who are happy with, or don't care about the changes being made. Blizzard may be listening to the users, just not the users you want them to listen to.

I can't vote, because the choices are so biased against Blizzard.

Where's my, "No, they've got a community of 11million people to please so obviously not everyone is going to be happy."

Secondly, Tanks/Healers are upset because the game has been unbalanced for level 80 for ~1.5months. I know I'm not looking forward to tanking with caps on AoE threat...but...it's a game it's about having fun and finding solutions to problems...not just hitting 1 over, and over, and over while I watch TV (Though I know plenty of people who like 'playing' like this).

So far as the, 'you're doing it wrong' statement - if people didn't simulate the game using different programs Blizzard wouldn't have to design their game as such. Every time ElitisJerks deconstructs their game, Blizzard has to figure out how to make the game difficult again (obviously difficult is a subjective term). This lead to bloated health pools, AoE raid damage, changes to resistances, etc... all things to combat various problems that deconstructing the game introduced. I've never been a big fan of "sim-ing" rotations, gems, equipment, because I think it's silly. *insert accountant/excel spreadsheet joke*. We, the players, handcuff the designers every time we figure a way around their design/mechanics. So how else are they suppose to respond?

Yeah, I kinda agree, wouldn't it be hilarious if the next patch just removed most of the numbers from the game? Your health and mana bars would go up and down, but no stats.

You'd know a piece of equipment was better for you based on the difficulty of the boss you got it from, not by hyper analyzing the numbers and deciding that it gives you a 0.07% increase in dodge therefore you 'need' it.

Sure, it plain wouldn't work, but jeez, I'm a guild leader, and my usual answer to the repeated question 'whats better out of item A and B?' is 'if you can't see enough of a difference, then it's plain not worth worrying about it.'

That would fall under the fanboy vote. Seeing as it's a blatant, apologist's logical fallacy.
Also using the old "11 million users" excuse is a sign, that you're stressing fudged statistics, to strengthen an already weak opinion.
Which is what a fanboy would say. So click the last option. It was made for you.

You make it sound like it isn't true. The number of people who are complaining about the patch is a small fraction of the user base. Blizzard needs to change something otherwise what is the point of releasing an expansion. As always the people who don't like a new idea tend to be more vocal than those who don't care or think it will be positive. And finally, people will always complain. I'm pretty sure I remember people complaining about Valve reducing bunny hopping speed in Counter Strike as it was a "feature" of the earlier patches.

For the fan base that's been with Blizzard for awhile; WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO DO THIS?

They always change things. People, by nature, always says it sucks. In the end it's more often than not a good decision.

It's not unfair.

Even questioning it as unfair is ridiculous.
Are you asking why long time fans still hate the changes? Or why Blizzard keeps changing things?

I've been playing WoW (shh! don't tell anyone!) and I've heard a MASSIVE amount of bitching about the changes being made to WoW.

Most people that are complaining have been saying "Blizzard is going to ruin the game with all these changes!"

To which I would reply, "Do you really think Blizzard is going to ruin their multibillion dollar baby? I think not!"

Blizzard has been in the MMO game for a while now. Most of the changes they've made since WoW first came out have been better or have made the game easier starting out for new players. Some people complained even when these changes were GOOD just because "they make the game too easy" or "when I was at [level #] I couldn't get a mount/certain spell/certain profession!".

About the healers and most importantly, the DRUID healers... I will say that while I love druid healers, it is clear that they are EXTREMELY overpowered. Ask the players in WoW which type of healer they'd prefer to have in a dungeon/raid/random quest and about 90% will say they want a druid. Druid healers maybe should be powered down a bit, but they haven't said they're going to power down the healing druid, but they are taking away the tree form.

As for healing in general, I doubt they'll make healing more difficult. People have been complaning but until the update there is no way to tell how easy/difficult healing will be.

I see that it demonstrates such poor logic, and is such a nonsensical-fanboy-rave that you had to make an alternate account in order to flame me, OP.

Ask your self what can they do? They design it to play a way, when player are doing it wrong they can't tell them that? Internet is just such a wonderful place isn't it. I remember when people tell them stop posting of forum and go make games. Serious? like the CM know what is C++/Python/Lua? They already ask you kindly to review your rotation that is enough.

Gotta love polls with shitty answers. I don't see them being dicks about anything; in fact they said being 80 would be screwy.

I don't play WoW anymore, but I remember there blue posts being very vague and often dodging the point.

Alot of the time though it is necessary, giving direct answers can lead to complicated situations in the future.. saying that they are going to implement an Australian server located in Australia and then opt out in the last second due to technical or monetary problems does not look good on business.

Thus the reasoning why whenever blizzard is going to implement something it usually starts with "might" or "we don't have plans for it at the moment"

Just makes it look better for the pigeons/sheep playing there game.
