depends for me. Games like Ass. Creed i could after learning all the dirty secrets of the characters. Same with movies that have major twists in them.

I don't think second playthroughs make the game better most of the time. They definitely are fun and worth doing but the first play through is probably still the best

I think if you play a game that doesn't have different dificulties i.e. dot hack it will stay the same but start to get old after awhile, but if you have a game with different difficulties and you increase it after every time you beat the game then it will be a little more intresting and require more skill to win so yes, or if you have a game like Tekken it stays the same throughout the whole time and is a lot of fun till the end.

Depends if the game lets you play through with all you've accumulated after you've completed the first run through.

For me it very much depends on the game. Take somthing like the MGS series, i'd say it definatly has repeat play value for things like extra items, achievements, unlockables etc. If a game doesnt have these kind of features then a ball tingling story must be provided i.e Half-life, Final fantasy, Max Payne(purely for the sake of my youth). The achievement system has made games have lots of repeat play if you're like me and must get 100% completion for anything and everything.

For open-ended games with lots of multiple pathways, optional quests, etc., I would say the second time through can be more memorable, if only for the "hey, I didn't see that the first time!" sensation you get, and the thrill of new discovery when you thought you'd seen it all.

Haven't met a game yet that's improved on second playing. It's just that you automatically drop into the 'There's a medkit around that corner' or 'I can run down this corridor safely' mode on the second time through.

You get better, sure, but the first time is always the most exhilarating.
