If they make their clan tag [GIRL], have "PRINCESS" or "GIRL" in their name, or otherwise go out of the way to make it known that they are female, then yes.

It all depends on how they behave just like everyone else. For example, in one my first online games on XBL I was in a RRXX Street Fight against one of the "Gamerchix". She hosted the match, and I'd won the opening round, so far so good. Then, about ten seconds into round two, she pulled the plug. I was more than willing to let it slide...until I later saw she had dinged my rep. claiming I was "too aggressive". I was too aggressive in a fighting game! Translation: "You didn't just stand there and let me hit you!" That brought my piss to a boil for a little while...Still, it was only one incident so I don't let it color my opinion of all girl gamers.

Not at all. In fact I haven't met one attention whore gamer. On live when I was really into the online I had like 3 girls on my friends list and they were pretty good. I played with one a lot (we were in the same Call of duty clan) it's fine.

Hell I love Girl Gamers. I try to encourage it as we don't have ANY gender equality online.

A girl gamer is fine with me. I treat them no differantly than any other gamer I would meet. Also, sometimes you might not even know a fellow gamer is a girl because they act just like the rest of us and it doesn't matter what gender you are, just aslong as you playing the game right.

Gamer girls are what I hate. They are the ones who tell you they are a girl so they can get attention from the poor gits desperate for female attention. They are no better than the kids who scream over their headsets or do stupid crap just to annoy the rest of us.

Hating the other players is easier than accepting that they are better than you. But you also get the eliltists at the top who look down on everyone else and spit on anyone trying to get better.

Unless, she has a mic, any "normal" girl gamer should be just like you or me. It's a video-game, anonymity is part of the deal. Attention whores are the real nuisances.

Unfortunately, almost every girl gamer I come across is the kind who is only playing to get attention from guys. You know, being stupidly flirty, finding ways to bring up their gender (and/or vagina) in conversations, etc. I have faith that most girl gamers are not like this, but I'd be lying if I said that I don't sigh whenever I find out that I'm playing with one. I think I'm just really unlucky.

They're as much as a nuisance as any male gamer. Gender dosen't matter. Actions do.

It all depends on how that they act. If they are no better than the Alabama f***nuggets then they will be treated as such.

honestly it depends on the person, but in general I like any gamers I meet. They be my brothers-in-arms!

ANY gamers you meet? even the 11 year old squeakers who only consider Halo 3 and CoD series to be the best and only games?

I'm wondering if these attention whores are really so plentiful. Certainly, I've never met one playing online. What I have come across on occasion is a sort of self-congratulatory gallantry, conspicuous "gentlemanly" behavior, with a flip-side of "just joking" flirtation. I suspect I'm being given additional considerations because I'm female. Just for reference, this is my guild master I'm talking about here. I'm pretty sure he doesn't go around /hugging male players but I've gotten hugs and "roses". I don't want to be treated any differently but it's really hard to confront this sort of thing. The one time I jokingly called him on some of this, he got his dick in a knot and two months later was still growling about it.

How's that tie in with the attention whore thing? Well, I think there are a lot of gamers who go into the situation with the attitude that they will take any advantage they can get. That's not gender specific at all. If that gamer happens to be female and she comes across a guy who gets all tingle-pants at the idea of playing with a girl, why wouldn't she exploit that? Now keep in mind, she's not doing it because she's a girl, she's doing it because she's a player as well as a gamer. She's just playing the angle she found, which happens to be gender-based. If she finds the angle more than once, just like any other amoral opportunist, she will keep working it. If guys just treated female players like they did male players, this tactic would stop working and they would stop using it.

I assume you're talking about XBL. I used to play on XBL but got tired of paying a monthly fee to play with 11 year olds, douchebags, fuck wits, and maybe 3 decent players in every match on every game. Steam doesn't really have that problem from what I've seen.

Only if they think I'm going to give them special treatment because they're women. If you shoot the witch, I'm gonna call you a moron, no matter what your gender is :p

I've heard that sort of response in many a L4D2 game. The other two dudes will be freaking out. I'll be scratching my head, and the chick will leave around 50% of the time. Still so long as they are good, i could care less.
