Both genders are very simple.
The expectations and preconceptions about them seem to make them complex.

...
next question?

I don't think a Gender can make someone complicated or simple just like where you were born also has no effect on if you are or are not complicated I would just say if you are complicated depends on what the person looking at you thinks is complicated and that is based on both of your upbringings, Enviorement and customs defining how you act and how the person looking at you thinks is normal to act.

People are simple; the world makes us complicated.

Sorry for the douchey, pretentious phrasing, but that's how I see it.

I are a dude.

How about: I'm a boy and think neither sexes are complex :)

Pretty straight flying regardless of who I'm looking at. Though boys tend to spiral down and girls up regarding reaction to situations. That would make girls seem more complex to the boy when they are reacting to the same situation.. if that makes any sense :p

Women are easier. All you need is a balaclava, a bottle of Chloroform and access to a dark alley. Men on the other hand now they are hard. You need alot more Chloroform to knock them out (seriously have you ever priced that stuff), plus they are alot heavier to drag into the alley. Plus if they wake up you have a real fight on your hands. So anyway yes women are easier.

This is what you meant right? I never read the question.
This made me lol, kudos to you good sir...the police will be arriving shortly :)

Oh crap I am out of here. where did I leave the gasoline and matches? She is a nice girl but I can't take any chances.

I was perusing the Advice forum and reading through Scott Pilgrim again so I guess that's where this question is coming from... Oh right, poll time, people.

Are girls more complicated than boys? Do girls have more complex patterns of thought and more complicated emotional reactions than boys? Are boys truly simplistic creatures or is this idea of girls being more emotionally complicated stem from the inability of one sex to fully understand the other? Perhaps this idea of complex girls is more of a social construction than a physical attribution?

Anyway, the poll is all set up. If you post, make sure to include your gender.
My response is too qualified for the poll.

And why, OP, didn't you chime in? What are your thoughts?

I do think that women are, at least emotionally, more complex overall than men. But not nearly as much as they would have us believe. Women love to be a mystery. They love the concept of the g-spot as an enigma, of their consciousness as an unanswerable question.

This is Omar a Rodriguez-Lopez.

Stay with me on this one.
He's the lead guitarist for the noise-rock/prog/psychedelic/latin/big rock/post-punk outfit The Mars Volta. He also composes every line of music except for the vocal melodies. With the band and on his own, he usually puts out over a half a dozen albums a year, of some of the richest, most complex, compelling, powerful music I've ever heard. He has said that he feels despair as soon as he's done recording and mixing a song or an album, because for him the process of creation is what inspires him.

This is Kate Gosselin.

And she is horrible.
Her three biggest accomplishments in life have been genetic fortune, being the umpteenth older woman to listen to her tasteless hairdresser and try to look more "youthful" by wearing a simulacrum of a post-punk haircut, and not being as terrible as her ex-husband.

Of course, we could compare Karen O to Howie Mandel and that would be no contest, either. The point is not to rag on women, but rather to point out that women are most definitely not always more complex than men.

Na, both sexes suck. Glad I am not either.

OT: Personally I can't understand the way women think but I believe that's just because of lack of exposure. I think we're different in the head fundamentally in a way that is incredibly subtle. Societies roles for both sexes have molded our different paradigms too.

We're mostly the same from the moment we're born but the world we walk into change the way we think. In anycase I've seen girls who have typically male problems (emotional expression issues, overcompensation issues, etc) and vice versa.

It probably depends on the individual. I say that because in my experience, it does.
And just to bring it up, you left out an option for girls who think guys are more complex, which fits the opinion of some women I know.

*Is a guy*

Men and Women are just wired differently. It's one part brain development as we grow up. The vast majority of one sex generally behave a certain way but there's always exceptions to the rule. Sometimes you get masculine women and feminine men (regardless of sexual orientation).

I'm a straight man and consider myself more on the feminine side, I reject most of the societal preconception of what a man is supposed to be, it's just not me. I'm not like other guys, I relate more to women. Pig-headed macho chauvinist men make me sick.

We're all equally complex in our unequal qualities, people that is.

There both about equal. It?s just that men and women tend to think differently and therefore they don't have the ability understand the other sex and just see them as complicated. Women tend to be ruled more over by emotion, while men ruled over by logic. Now I am not saying that men are actually more logical per say, just that to get from one idea to the next they use logic as the base, even if what forms that logic is itself illogical.

I think they're equally complex

Men are hardwired to either want to kill, eat, own, breed, or some combination thereof with everything they see.

Women are hardwired to bare children, nurture, and all the ins and outs and variations of those activities (and there's a TON of them)

So claiming the yin is more complex than the yang is ridiculous. And there's plenty of people that embody the opposite of their conventional gender roles and physical variations (men and women are different in more ways than just reproductive organs, even mental attributes and sensory input has variation, look it up).

I would say both sexes are as complicated as eachother, at least from my own experiences.

WOW, this place is a sausage fest...

I think women are more complicated, simply due to the menstrual/hormonal effects that affect them daily.

Is that how they have the super power to dance circles around our minds?

Short answer, no. Long(ish) answer, people are people, regardless of gender and that's how they should be judged. Sure gender brings differences to the table (positive differences) but it should not be the basis of judgement. Any implied (and falsely founded) sense of superiority will only breed problems.
Judge people as individual cases and not as a broader example of whatever creed, class or gender they belong to.

... In other words I think this is a silly topic.
