A relative has a blackberry. The manual clearly stats that in the event of a hang/freeze/crash, you are to rip out the battery, count to five, and stick it back in. As someone who's been using computers their entire life, this sounds like slamming a car into Park at 60mph because you hear a strange rattle. But hey, whatever works.

Point is, apple products don't even have that option. They can work okay if you're extra gentle, but eventually something is going to crash, somethings going to get corrupted, and theres not shit you can do about it apart from "restoring" it for a couple hours. Then, if that doesn't work, you have a $500 paperweight.

They're designed to be idiot proof, but idiot proofing simply makes a better idiot.

the only iphone I've had break was one I dropped on hard pavement at a full run. It hit hard, and slid about 10 feet.

Otherwise, I've found the tech to be impressively hardy.

So, that scene in CommodoreHustle Episode 2, where you Ryan skip and drop your iPhone, was based on this incident? :D

OT: I don't own an Apple product, aside from the iMac, so I can't really vouch for this. I'm typing on my Windows 7 laptop, but that is unrelated.
very closely, yes.

My iPhone broke...

But it involved me, a tree, a rock and a broken branch...

I voted no but it just popped into my head that my first iPhone broke. One day it just shut down and wouldn't do anything. Luckily I got it replaced in like an hour. I'm not a Mac person but if we're talking iPods, iPhones, and even iPads I love Apple.
