It reminds me of just how hard it is for people to accept that other people are different.

7 Billion people on the planet.

If even just 500,000 of them like something it will look like everyone does.

Just remember that anytime someone says "1 Million people love this game" remind them that 6.9 billion other folks either don't even know it exists or don't even like it.

We look at things in a manner that conforms best to our understanding of the world, I just did it myself, and it is one of those optimization tasks our brain uses to help keep us from going batshit insane.

I've got a few thousand ICHC photos on my PC and I use them as my screensaver. I don't expect them to be the funniest thing in the world, I just want to wake up each day and know that someone is trying to make me smile.

To be fair even without it some folks are...but you get my point.

It depends on the individual lolcat. A lot of people seem to like them as well which is usually a sign they must be doing something right.

Some are, some aren't. It's just that you have to search through endless piles of crap and ''meh'' before you find funny ones that can actually make you smile, or even laugh.

Actually, I have never liked lolcats.

Don't get me wrong, I adore cats. It's hard for me to think of an animal I like more, because there isn't one. And this is despite an allergy to them.

But the awful spelling puts me off really badly. I don't get the humor in bad spelling.

I find them funny most of the time, but it really depends on the photo and the quality of the joke within it - I know the quality can sometimes be very low, but I like lolcats that have cats looking like they're doing something bizzare, and a witty caption with it.

I don't generally care for LOL cats; as a comedic device, they're rather ineffective. However, as an "omg cats SOOOOOOOOOOOO cuteeee" device, they fucking own all others.

I find them to be amusing and at times pretty funny, though you have to be very casual with reading them to enjoy them. Of course, the individual LOLcat determines quite a bit of their humor.

The pictures are funny like, but it's when people who aren't cute amd furry, but rather fat and greasy, start talking like them that they start fucking me off.

On the internet I thought there would be a fair number of people who hate these things but it seems I am the only one! I don't get the appeal. A cat doing something a cat normally does, with bad grammar written. The only real humor I can take from it is when the cat is in the air and the picture was a one-in-a-million shot. But other than that its supposed to be 'cute'? I imagine people call in sick for work just to sit with their cat take a picture and stare at it trying to think of what to write.They upload it to a site where they will get critiqued with scathing review of 'lol' and 'cute :3'. And they feel that they actually accomplished something. Well next time I take a shit I'll be sure to post it on the internet and act like I jumped over Mount Everest.

I just want to know since this IS the escapist after all I'd assume not many people would like LOLcats. Disclaimer: Its not like I can just let people like them and leave them alone, I see these every day and they won't go away. In computer class someone sends around a picture of a cat in a bathtub with the caption 'i is in a bathtub' and everyone goes "OMG LOLLLLLL COMEDY GENIUS HAHAHA" while I'm stuck out of the loop. i is so so saaaad.

Err, I mean it sucks how so many people can thing this is funny, and of course I'm right because I'm a cynic teenager and my logic is flawless. But seriously what do you tihnk of LOLcats?

I find LOLcats these days to only be funny when there is an obscure reference involved, or an extremely rare(1 in a mil, in the air, etc.) picture is taken, or if it is just cute as hell.
