Are you forgetting Mario Party? Yes you are!
No, I mentioned it.
I have to admit...I didn't read the OP, I just went by the title, sorry for wasting your time. :(

Mini-game collections are fun for a while but only if you have friends to play with, they can't stand up to solo play like regular games.
It's no problem. It's good to know someone else likes Mario Party (The third was the best, in my opinion).

And yes, the lack of any real single-player length is an issue. However, with the dawn of internet-gaming, I think that this problem could be worked around.

9 in 10 things are garbage about which you will later ask yourself "why did I ever think I wanted this?"

It depends on the situation, my WII only gets touched when I have people over who don't normally play video games ( alright... I won't go that far, I do love LoZ and have the MP:trilogy ... ) and they all love Mario Party, Wario Ware, Boom Blox, etc... so they do serve their purpose... but for every good mini game compilation, there's about 10 bad ones ...

I answered no, but I do not think that they are the greatest things ever. Minigames are fun and enjoyable, especially those who have only short periods of time in the day for gaming. Besides, I tend to total my opponents at minigame collections like the Mario Party games and whatnot, so that's a plus in my books as well. I'm not knocking full-length games and whatnot, but I am saying that minigames are a fantastic yin to a full-length game's yang.

Mini-Games can be fun if done correctly, or in a unique way.

Mario Party gave the Mini-Games a purpose in a larger game, Warioware made a unique system for Mini-games by making them all last around 3 seconds. Other than those, its hard to name a good mini-game collection.

Honestly, Mini-Game collections are just made from throwing together bits of left over code, they're designed to make a quick buck.

Sorry, the Wii IS a Mini-Game Machine that could have been so much more, unfortunately more people bought Raving Rabbids than stuff worthwhile like No More Heroes or Punch-Out!! so developers realized that being Mediocre sells better than being exceptional.

I can't take the Wii seriously. Do you know why? It has a stupid name.
You're mature, aren't you?

And for the love of God, stay on the fuckin' topic.

The Wii was built for party games, and minigame collections are built for parties. For every Mario Party and Wario Ware you have a Carnival games.

also the best move nintendo could make is all the mario parties on one disk.
I'd buy 5, just for the old ones.

The spectrum of mini-game quality runs the entire gamut from good to bad. Nowadays, it's more miss than hit in finding good mini-games, but therein lies the fun. You still play the mini-games, and they are entertaining, nonetheless.

Fact: Every minigame game is crap except for the first two Mario Parties.

Source: Me. They WERE my childhood, and I loved every minute. Nothing else can compare.

Nothing can make me change my rigid stance. Nooothing!
