Ponytails are practical and can look nice if worn right. Fuck fashion, if you keep a style for long enough, you'll find that you'll be 'in fashion' again soon enough.

Ponytail's rule.... Make sure that there is no split along the top of your head, seems to work for me! I get lots of comments on my hair.... Chicks wanna touch it.... It confuses me honestly but hell, lets just go with it.
pics pics! I find it hard to believe a ponytail on a guy can be anything but a greasy recceeding mess.

Long hair is awesome, I just started growing my ponytail back after being skinned for about 8 years. 5cm atm, got a year and a half to go. At least.

But I'm fine with that, because I Really miss that look.

A thousand times No.

Long hair? Maybe, depends on the person. Ponytails are NEVER cool...

Personally, I like guys with ponytails, but like as been said, it's usually with facial hair. And tattoos, y'know, not sleazy kind, but hot biker kind.

damn, my dad was right; getting that motorbike has affected me.

That depends. Is your hair very thin and wispy, or is itthick a lusses. Do you wash It reqularly, or is it some horrible greasy thing. Do you comb it regularly, or is it a birds nest. Do you get occasinally hair cuts just to tidy it up, or is it an uneven horrer of split ends?

Basicly, If you take care of your hair and it looks like is healthy and taken care of then keep it long by all means. Just make sure the hair looks healthy and happy by hair standerds.

NOTE: Acting all "fight the system" and having that be one of the reasons you grow your hair long will make serveral people dislike it (and maybe you) on priciple. On the other hand, saying that you like the your hair long becuase of how it feels on your neck/back as when you turn your head. Also stating that you enjoy how its feels on your hand when you run your fingers though your hair will actully improve peoples opinion of it. People will always usally respect some one that doesn something different if they state that they enjoy thing thing simply becuase it brings them pleasure in an of its self. A reble with out a cuase reasoning uaslly just annoys people and makes them dislike you/the thing.

I had long hair for about four years in highschool and I really enjoyed it and most people aroudn me enjoyed it. I cut if half way though my senior year beucase I wanted a change.

In almost every case I've seen, no. Long hair, no worries, but tying it back for anything but work? Naaaaaah.

Well, when I wear it in a tail, people say I look like orlando bloom.
When I wear it loose, people say I look like Johnny Depp.

Pretty obvious, really..

so i've been growing my hair out for a while now (i'm a guy, by the way) and my hair is now considerably longer than most of my female friends, and i wear a ponytail, for practicality and because i think they have a "fight the system" kind of attitude to them. the feedback i've got is pretty much 50-50, my sister in particular expressingly telling me that they are NOT cool and that i should get a haircut. so what do the general public think?

(i would post an image were it not for the stupid Facebook image viewer thing that disallows the viewing of individual image pages, and therefor, image URLs)

EDIT: sorry, that bottom one says "" apparently, you don't use 's in the poll options

i dont have a ponytail anymore because i dreaded my hair, but for the past few years i did. my bangs were down to my chest and the back of my hair reached down to my mid-back. i never really got many comments except that some girls said it made me look cute (then again, others preferred me with my hair down). i work in an art field so maybe its slightly more acceptable. however, i would not say ponytails have a fight the system feel to them. i think they have more of a "my hairs too long and i need to keep it out of my face" feel to them. never once saw a guy with a ponytail and thought that he looked badass or that he was a revolutionary.

bottom line: if you like having long hair, tie it back. but dont have a pony tail just so you can say you have a pony tail

My hair is probably pushing 70-80 centimeter(I'm a guy) and I've always had it loose. On me, and most people, ponytails looks awful. Some can pull it off, but that's a rare number.

Meh I usually wear my hair in a ponytail for convenience sake (another long haired guy if your wondering) most people say it looks better down though.

I've seen some guys sport awesome ponytails (like my physics professor). Though it's not for everyone, some people can pull it off others can't.

I'm biased on this subject simply because I used to have one myself. Had it cut off after about a year and a half because I was sick of kids and distracted parents (or just half-blind old biddies) refering to me as "the lady" or "miss" (I work in my local grocery store and I'm a guy btw).

I personally like long hair and don't think that society should demand that "men have short hair, women have long hair" (or many other gender-based differences, though some do seem better kept as they are. Some fat, hairy, ugly old man in a mini-skirt is NOT appealing... and yes, you DO see that sort of thing when you work in retail, unfortunately *shudders*)
