How to frosttroll at low level:

Summon a Flame Atronach (get the spell, it's good!) and let Flamey get agro. Then pew pew.

Trolls have to be flamed down one way or another.

No, not at all. I think they are way too weak, at least the dragons and regular humans (except maybe mages). As for the trolls, there's a book named "Slaying trolls" or "Killing trolls" or something which describes how to kill one.
Really? You find any other interesting books? I renember one in oblivion being called "The Lusty Argonian Maid" It made me laugh

You know that you can change the difficulty setting at any time in the options menu, right?
That said, I haven't had a problem yet on Adept. A game in which I never die is a game that's way too easy for me and I haven't died enough to get upset about it so...... I might go up a difficulty level if it doesn't get harder soon.
I agree with you in a sense, I'm a mage and I'm using apprentice level spells to literally fuck shit up, so I'd say it starts out hard and becomes progressively easier

Everything is too easy. I don't even block, I can down pretty much anything, dragons included, in about 5 seconds with my dagger and sword.

Not really. Tactics. And maybe a companion. More with the tactics if you don't have a companion.

And adjusting combat styles for different enemies. Bear tactics and frost mage tactics are wildly different things.
My friend I have one tactic against all of these enemies which works every time. Dual wielded firebolt with two fire upgrades.

Im playing a mage type character and I hate going against other mages because they keep using wards every time I shoot a spell and negates my dmg, so I use summons against them and they die in a couple hits. Try different things to overcome the challenge.

Im forward rolling through dungeons, swinging my knife like a mad man, and gutting everything in my wake with 30x crits.

I 1 hit dragons >.>; Overpowered? No. You just might be spreading yourself thin like i did on my first toon. I focused on everything under the blue moon and more, and died for it.

This may be the source of my need for tactics. I keep trying to shoot sharpened pieces of metal on sticks through their eyes like a sucker instead of simply bbq-ing them. ;p

Ah well, next character.

"The Lusty Argonian Maid" Chapter 2 or something was located in the Honningbrew Meadery for me, by a bed in the upstairs section of it.

OT: I've found a fair few annoying enemies but nothing that I haven't been able to kill at all yet. Though it still annoys me that my 254 armor rating and 34 sword damage + 15 fire damage enchant aren't as powerful as an enemy's 50 armor rating and 10 iron dagger damage.

I loathe the zombie/drought things with a firey passion, they have a tendency to gang up on you and the overlords are total bastards. I am fine with dragons but when I have to enter a tomb filled with those jerks I switch the difficulty down a notch. Judge me as you wish.

Yep though for me it's with bears
Same here. Snow bears are the worst. I got stuck for 2 Hours trying to get past this one bear to a quest for the College of Winterhold

ive had similar issues with individual enemies, ive been playing on expert for the giggles and such and have found that bandit captains with two handed weapons can kill in one hit and that frost trolls can only be killed by shouting them off a ledge and murdering them before they can get up. and dragon priests are harder than dragons but mostly because their spells are deadly accurate and dragons shouts arent

Nothing like an enemy that shouts your weapon out of your hand onto the ground and then stands on it to make you regret your career path.

I play a very specialized character (stealthy Redguard archer with a dagger on the side. I make heavy use of poisons as well), so I'm always aware that I'll be at a disadvantage in some encounters (and a great advantage in others).

I just always have an escape plan. If things get hairy, I can always work my way out of it. I don't have a single magic spell, but I have an apothecary at my disposal. I can make myself invisible, paralyze my pursuer, etc.

Fortunately, I don't need to do that often. Lydia does a good deal of damage for me and tends to draw all the aggro. In fact, enemies attacking her most often don't even see me (even if I'm just five feet in front of them). So I get lots of sneak attack crits.

The enemies that have given me trouble the most:
-Bears: Good god. They deal so much damage and are actually fast.
-Mammoths and Giants: I tried to kill a mammoth once. Yep. I then spent five minutes fleeing it and its buddies while consuming tons of potions before they took me down.
-Bandits in one particular fort: I can't remember which fort it was, but I took a trapdoor entrance into it and there were about six bandits who could quickly kill both Lydia and I. I guess they must have been high level enemies, so I'll come back later. I did take out all the bandits on the outside.

i do have a tendency to get insta killed, i play a mage/archer, so i have little health and pretty much no armour. i have lost count of the times i have been walking along or in combat and killed in one hit from a stray arrow/ice spike/bear/dragon landing on me.

i do have a partner who i use to tank (he has a weapon which has a chance to paralyse so he can hold them in place) however in the event of him lagging behind, or the few missions where i am on my own, i do just have to fire my fireballs and run.

I realise you're probably all sick of Skyrim threads by now but this is something which has been bugging me and my friends for a while now. I play Skyrim on the normal difficulty and it is a really fun game, but one problem i have with it is that some enemies just seem hideously overpowered. I'm not talking about giants or dragon priests etc, they're powerful because they should be, no. What bugs me is that recently I encountered a bandit leader who managed to kill me in three hits. I was wearing upgraded dragonplate armour at the time and so i was pretty pissed off especially considering i have slain over 10 dragons, none of which had given me much trouble. So just how come some enemies, who should be relatively weak, are more powerful than creatures such as blood dragons?
Just to be clear, I'm not saying all enemies in Skyrim are overpowered, just some are, especially those pain in the arse frost trolls. Encounter one of those at level 1 and you'll be pretty incensed.

So, over to you. has anyone else encountered annoyances like this in Skyrim?
Uhm... just wondering but would this bandit leader happen to reside in that mine filled to holy hell with iron and a dead mammoth for some reason? If it is I died to that fucker like 15 times I think it was his sword or something.

Just about everything needs a bit of strategy to take down. I don't charge in and try to melee Frost Trolls, just spam Incinerate and stagger them every time they try to move. It forces you to develop different strategies and have a bit of variety in weapons. Fireball spamming is just about the easiest way to get through the game, except for Dragon Priests, who will fuck your shit up no matter what you use.
So in conclusion, no they're not overpowered as long as you develop the right strategies for different enemies.... as long as those strategies all consist of spamming fireballs at everything.

EDIT: Apart from bears... Fix your loading screens, Bethesda cause "Bears don't attack unless provoked". Apparently walking within 10 meters of them counts as provoking them -_-

The difficulties are fair. The only really overpowered things are mammoths and bears.
