Do you think some weapons are extremely stupid and or cheatweapons? i actually do ( the huntsman and the Force -a- Nature ). i have grown sick of these and its getting harder and harder to say nothing after the millionst time i got FaN-ed, or be pinned (that is btw hillarius) by the huntsman. (oh and btw say why or why not) the FaN is too strong at point blank and the kickback is annoying and the huntsman needs a longer charge before max power. you can also pick other weapons ofcourse if you dislike those

*edit* sorry for the spelling mistakes in the title and/or body (i have no clues how to change the title..)

*edit* fixed it and also changed the title and also i am sorry to change the title after votes :C )

No. Nothing is a noob weapon in any game. It was put in a game for a reason, and using it is simply a good strategy.

I disagree, the M21 in CoD4 is most definitely a noob weapon... Semi auto sniper with no recoil whatsoever? Fuck off.

I don't think so, TF2 is actually very balanced. Using your examples, the FoN is supposed to be very powerful at close range so Scouts have a reason to get close, which in itself makes them vulnerable. Likewise, the Huntsman requires a trade-off for the fact that to use it the Sniper must give up a bit of range.

I've recently come back to TF2 after almost a year of not playing, and I really don't like the force of nature.

The huntsman hasn't been that much of a problem for me, but any scout I've come across with the force has killed me no problem if I don't have loads of backup.

The hit recognition seems to be off since I last played as a number of times I've had things happen like be sniped when I'm far behind a wall with both me and the sniper having less than 40 latency. And it's happened to me a couple of times too sniping people I was sure I missed because my crosshair was far to their left and suddenly I have a headshot.

With the scout it seems to be worse and sometimes it's like I haven't been hitting them (shotguns or rockets or minigun) and the ability to in most cases 1 or 2 shot me even as a heavy is just silly, especially with how fast that gun shoots. I haven't yet unlocked it to try myself but I'm waiting for it.

Cheap? No, all weapons are very balanced.

Noob? Yes, the pyro unlock "Backburner" is one, so is the Sniper unlock "Huntsman."

Now, not to say they don't have uses, the huntsman definitely, backburner less so. But they are in no way general purpose weapons. And too often you will see kids using the BB 24/7 when the Airblast on the flamethrower is a much much better option in most situations. The same goes for people using the Huntsman for the long range attacks the rifle was designed for.

The weapons all have their uses, but some are not general purpose and as a result become "noob weapons" when people force then into those roles.

The Huntsman uses the projectiles hitbox(rocket, flaregun, syringes) and not the more refined hitboxes of the other guns. So you can get headshots within a foot or so of their heads.

Fun fact: Because of this you can airblast reflect arrows and headshot people(can also stun scouts with their own ball).

People that ***** about things like that are either 12 yrs old, or have no life outside of the internet and take it personally when they get their asses kicked.

But for the record, pyros and rocket spammer piss me off. I would never call them a noob though, if I don't like it I just try and kill them.

Actually developers should make a gun that randomly spawns in the middle of the map that is insanely powerful, with a time limit of course, and call it the noob gun. Have it be like a mini gun that fires rockets that also light you on fire... Valve should be paying me.

That is mostly lag, lag says a player passes through you and hits one of those hitboxes that registers a backstab(side or back) and not the front that everyone sees him hitting.

Huntsman and Fail-A-Nature both annoy me. I don't think they're overpowered, they just bug the hell out of me. Before I start, I'll just explain that I main Spy, so weapons that are designed to be effective at close range are bound to grind.

Frst off, the Huntsman, as has been said above, doesn't quite work as a weapon that gives headshots, and I'll often think I've dodged an arrow and see it whoosh past my head, only to suddenly have it disappear as I watch it and give a headshot against me. Very annoying. Also, it'll almost always headshot if fired point-blank, regardless of where I am in relation to the Sniper or where they are facing. I've been headshotted several times when I was stood behind the Sniper (I also get that with melee weapons, the Ubersaw in particular).

As for the Fail-A-Nature, it has got to be THE most annoying weapon in the history of the universe. This gun has been responsible for some of the worst fails I?ve had while spying, and the worst part is that I couldn?t do anything about it. I don?t mind so much when I get flamed by a Pyro, because I can and do blame it on them being paranoid and/or spammy. When I bump into people, it?s simply a matter of bad luck, or that it was a stupid place to be in the first place. However, the Fail-A-Nature immediately turns any spy-check into instant death. One hit from it and not only are you hurt and your presence revealed, but you also fly back a good two or three feet and well away from anyone who you could have backstabbed, while being instantly paralysed while in the air and losing all momentum, making it nigh on impossible to run away once you land. Also, it has ruined a good many stairstabs when I have jumped, only to find myself blasted into the air as if by a rocket-jump. The huge spread of the FaN also means that it is almost impossible to avoid. If a Scout shoots somewhere within the same map as you, chances are they?ll hit you, and this does not a fun game make.

i think ive read that word for word somewhere, did you copy/paste that?

and the sandman. i mean, seriously. Its one thing if i get killed by the FAN, its got tons of damage and knockback, but the sandman makes it so that you literally CAN NOT PLAY which takes the whole "game" aspect out of a game. basically, it's dodge the ball, or die. and the Scoot should defiantly not get a one hit kill.

To me TF2 is exactly like rock, paper, scissors. Everything is good against something, but also has a weakness to something else. If you took something out of TF2, something else would gain a huge advantage.

Actually the backstab detection has always been a little wonky. Valve has admited it and refined it, but there still is the occasional "facestab" if the spy attacks just the right spot.

It shouldn't be removed, but the rocket launcher definitely needs to be nerfed, at least for the xbox 360 version.
