It shouldn't be removed, but the rocket launcher definitely needs to be nerfed, at least for the xbox 360 version.
I think it has been nerfed on the PC, but I may be wrong on that. I know the sticky-bombs have been anyway. When's the last time they updated the 360 version? I'm sure that'll roll out when they finally deliver the back-catalogue of PC updates.

As for me, I don't think anything needs to be toned down. Just get rid of the cross-hair for the sniper when you're using it point-blank. It's all too easy now to Jarate an enemy and point-blank shoot them with the rifle - before they added that cross-hair, it took at least a little bit more skill than that.

I think it was April 21st, but the only thing they did was to add the option to change what classes you want in your match (i.e. all scouts, scouts and heavies, etc.)

I'd say everything is pretty well balanced. There isn't a weapon that is truly noobish. Some make me angry, but I wouldn't say they should be banned. Like the replacement for the minigun. The one that slows you down and stops you from running when they hit you. It's so damn annoying to get stuck in that, but if I hadn't run in like an idiot, it wouldn't be a problem.

The huntsmen, backburner, and FaN all seem much more powerful than they really are at lower levels of play.

Still, they do have their own perks, its just that they can seem tuned for noobs more than their standard counterparts.
I'd have to disagree with the huntsmen and backburner. The huntsmen is a fine tuning weapon. You have to pull, get it to the sweet spot, let go and hope the person stands still. I give credit to any sniper that can beat me with that when I am using the regular rifle (which has actually never happened).

And for the back burner to be effective, you have to be BEHIND someone. At least you have to be sort of stealthy with it, instead of just running in and trying to burn everyone.

I would have to say the Sandman, it really needs to be nerfed. The stun is extremely long, long enough to break an uber and ensure your death. There's a reason why it's banned in most tournaments.

I'm saying they lend themselves to being noob weapons. The huntsmen does take a lot of skill to be used effectively especially over the standard sniper rifle, but it can also be used as a fire and forget type of weapon. The backburner can also be used simply because many underestimate the usefulness of compression blast.
God don't I know that. I always run around as a pyro LIGHTING SHIT UP... then come to a pile of those sticky grenades... it's so annoying not to be able to just blow those away. Though I do hate it when another pyro blows them all over to you right as they blow up. Fuckers.

Well considering this is Valve we're talking about, they take balance quite seriously and do lots of play tests before they put something in their games. So I'd say no weapons should be deleted because they are there for a reason.

i think ive read that word for word somewhere, did you copy/paste that?
It's from a blog post I wrote a while back for my TF2 group, but I linked it somewhere else here recently.

1. The force-a-nature is a balanced weapon because though it is deadly at point blank, It is a terrible weapon to use at a mid to long range. The huge spread of the weapon is annoying to the weaker classes but it doesn't even phase the heavys and sollys. Quit your complaining spys.

2. The huntsman is also balanced, The huntsman is really only easy to use if you can account for flight time, and even then it is still not 100% accurate, the sniper rifle may not be as powerful as fast as the huntsman, but it has no flight time.

3. The sandman is difficult to use, once again it has flight time, the further away from the target the longer it stuns, you only get one shot. You require skill to use this weapon. it is in no way a "n00b weapon".
I actually agree that the Huntsman and the Fail-A-Nature are fairly well balanced, I just really hate them as weapons. The Sandman I have no problem with because hardly any decent Scout players use it, and because the time you're stunned for is directly proportional to the distance you get hit from, by the time the Scout reaches me, I'll be regaining control and aiming a rocket at their face. Also, I don't tend to encounter it much when spying, only really when I go Soldier, so that could help my opinion of it.
