Really, games are all about immersion and enjoyment.

It doesn't matter how many of one game there are. So long as you enjoy whatever you're playing, then the types of games being made shouldn't bother you.

So, since I enjoy shooter games, then I must say keep 'em coming.

Gee, you people do get worked up about bad grammar and spelling, don't you? I mean, I'm pro-grammar, but it was okay, I understood everything on the first read. I don't see that much of a problem (yes, I know, it doesn't contribute to people getting used to grammar again, but I've seen plenty worse).

Anyways, I'm not sure whether there are too many shooters or not. I mean, the market is flooded with those, but I've never heard myself saying "oh, I'd LOVE to play something else now, but I already have all the non-shooters on the market, what should I do?". There are still plenty alternatives.

Its not a huge deal, its just a) a good habit to get into to prevent being banned and b) is important for clear communication. I just really had trouble with your first post there. It took me a good minute of re-reading it to finally understand.

Aslong as we can carry on trying to make it fresh and alive I think shooters will never die out.

I, myself, am "sick" of shooters. It seems my choices in videogames is growing ever-more limited. I understand there's a reason why there are so many - they sell well. So there's likely no chance that this trend will change. I would not be surprised if the PS3 is the last console I purchase.

I love shooters, so I want more of them. I do, however, have an approach to dealing with the inevitable shooters that I don't like that some of you may be interested in. Ready? This is a pretty big secret.

If I don't like a shooter, I don't buy it.

This is a policy that has served me well and if you can master it you will find that it makes your life better, too.

It's cool. Also, you might want to throw some spaces in that list, it was pretty hard to read.

Shooters can keep on coming out as far as I'm concerned, just as long as they're still fun.

Haven't really thought about until now but yes there are too many shooters :/ And I really enjoy a good shooter but it seems like there are so many that it's hard to choose which one to play next. Seriously, I've been having a trying time looking up shooters and trying to figure out what one I might like.

I always was a shooter fan, but the more and more generic they get (and no, i didn't find GoW1 anless the same as halo but with more walls.), the less i buy them and the more i go to my fighter game roots. Now, I only shoot for non-traditional shooters, such as Fallout 3, TF2, and L4d. So far, the only traditional shooter i have purchased is COD4, and i love that to death, but besides that, im pretty much making sure my dollar doesn't go to waste on the same material with different IP.

The problem isn't that there are too many shooters. The problem is there are too many BAD shooters.

Once a game like CoD4 or Bioshock comes around and sets the bar that high, you can't really make a game like CoD:WaW and expect not to be laughed at.
