Its hard to feel attached to a video game, because subconsciously you know that its just a video, it doesn't matter if a character dies.

The only reason i kill in fallout 3 is for self-defence. I dont kill inocent people.
Same here. Although I still think it is self defense if you steal from them and they shoot at you. I had fawkes with me and we leveled tenpenny tower.

you really need the GECK launcher mod to be truly evil. Make sure your a few towns away before launching at your target though. Far enough away that you can barely see the guy or gal.

Or in the addon that allowed you access to orbital nukes, did you pick the option to lay waste to rivet city, megaton, etc?

Really? I never heard anything like that about the game, quite the opposite in fact. Half the fun is achieving murder in the most gloriously over the top way imaginable.[/quote

Yeah, like nailing an old lady's limbs to a wall in the shape of a body...

I should stop talking now.

Are you, by any chance, the greatest person ever?
Why yes, by a very strange coinkidink, I am.

So earlier this week I purchased Fallout 3, via Steam, based on everything I've heard about how hard it is for people to kill the charectors without feeling bad. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed butchering civilians in many games I thought "This would be a nice change of pace."
The only regrets I had from Jericho and I shooting everyone who had a gun and mercilessly beat every other resident of Megaton with bare hands and then watching it explode was that I couldn't hurt kids, and didn't get a chance to show Oscar Schindler the sweet crib I recieved for all his disappointment.
Ooh, sounds bad. Maybe you should get Bethesda to replace your disk, because it's obviously faulty.

Jokes aside, we're onto you. It's a well known fact that Bethesda took out the 'emotion.player.jng' file in the early versions of the games. That's right - you pirated it. Now, go out and buy a game.

Or torrent the 'emotion' file, it shouldn't be hard to find.

I guess there's not THAT much pity and mercy to be found unless you're playing your game as a Very Good character with Dogmeat in tow, but personally, my first playthrough was as a Very Evil cannibalistic cyborg Energy-Weapons specialist, so take that with a grain of salt. :p

I'm more stealth-based anyways, so killing someone who gives me a way around killing them is much more preferable.

I only felt attached to Gob. He rocks. Everyone else can go and die.

Also, install a killable children mod if you really want to put those toddlers in their place. And by place I mean grave. Does Steam Fallout 3 allow mods?

I had one play through where I went from town to town just killing every killable person in the town. It was hard to find anyone left over.

Where's the feeling pity and mercy I was promised? Am I alone here?
Also, why pay voice actors for greetings and Idle chit chat only to have them turn mute when speaking to you?
*Bolds some text* That's why.
