WWII games have been old for a long time. The sooner the industry moves away from that era, the better.

Not only are they old, but they're ghoulish and in bad taste. That was the period in history where my Grandad had to pull the corpses of his half-cooked mates out of tank hulks when he wasn't killing people he'd never met.
WW2 games offer nothing in terms of historical or educational value, and there are plenty of alternatives to covering actual wars while still maintaining the feel of a given time period. I'd rather play sci-fi shooters any day.

I think Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway was an excellent WW2. It was so damn engaging, and captured WW2 pretty damn well. I really need to play it again.

Don't get me wrong; WW2 games are fun when they are done well.

However most are just plain crap:
--they are getting a bit old.
--most of them are rigged; one US soldier can take down entire German or Japanese armies.
--I have yet to see a good WW2 game that shows the Axis side (they may exist, but are crap).

I would like to see a realistict WW2 game, meaning that for once the enemy would do something smart like shoot properly or have some tactical prowess.
Play 'Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway'. Playing the game run 'n' gun isn't a very good tactic and the AI is damn good. The run from cover when it's destroyed, the stay in cover when necessary, etc.

I would have to say yes. I myself like war games as they always seem to be badass and cool. But the problem is that WWII is way to over done. My understanding is that it was a great war and that it holds a lot of significance for most everyone not just including the US. Technologies of the time were rapidly growing as well as large amounts of information and events that happened throughout the war. What I hate is there are many other wars that could be used here WWI, Vietnam, Civil War, etc. even other counties wars outside US. If all else fails have a game with a made up war by made up places like a lot of games do.

They can be pretty fun, just because the guns feel more traditional. But mostly I prefer modern combat.

The Medal of Honour and Call of Duty series (excluding Modern Warfare of course, but I don't like that either) are getting old and boring, but Brothers in Arms is a World War 2 game and it isn't old, boring and stale.

For me, they were getting old when they were new. So sick of reading about them in game review zines; that & WoW where what more than half the articles were deticated to for like, the past 10 years or something.
