So I've been wondering where all these My Little Pony avatars have been coming from for a while now, and I finally had the free time to look up the show, My Little Pony: Friendhsip is Magic (AKA the least manly title in the history of ever). After watching the first episode I mostly loled, but was like, "well it's to be continued. I have to watch the second episode to." I'm now four episodes in and ashamed of myself.

Urban dictionary definition

Brony-A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

Example:person A: So I was listening to this song called Winter Wrap Up, and it just got stuck in my head...

Person B: Winter Wrap Up? What kind of name for a song is that?

Person A: What? You haven't heard that song? It from the episode of My Little Pony where?

Person B: I no longer give a fuck.

Person A: Relax! I'm just an awesome Brony who is?

*Person B punches Person A across the face*

No. The show was quite disappointing despite everyone who is at least 15 years over the target audience saying it is awesome.

Rainbow Dash 4 life. Tbh I just find MLP to be great for confusing people, but its definitely not the worst show targeted at the 10 year old girl demographic.

Look at my avatar.

Now back to me... how the hell can you be looking at me?! How'd you get into my home?!

But yeah, I like the show.

No, no I am not a Brony. Of all the many internet fads over the past couple years, I think this whole My Little Pony thing is one of the most impenetrable and perplexing. There's so many things out there which one could watch, so why this show? Maybe it's that I just don't like horses... maybe it's that I'm just too old for it, I don't know... but whatever it is, I'm ready or this particular fad to end.

Damn right I am. Especially Pinkie Pie is awesome, she plays a one-pony orchestra like a BAWS.

Someone explained it really well, and I'll try to parahrase him; 'because they cared.' Lauren Faust was basically told to make something to sell more pony toys, but instead they put actual effort in behind it. The enthusiasm that went into making it is visible in everything, from the animation to the voice acting. They had to do so little, but instead they actually made something out of it; 4th wall breaking jokes, clever set-ups, it even has a dick joke! It shows that the creator has worked on The Powerpuff Girl and it shows that they cared, and for that I love it.

And all that lead to random shit like this:
And it has lead to some incredible [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJbAT1wzS8U&feature=player_embedded] videogame [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egrlzkKa6O8] trailer [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqpyAlvyP3Y] mash-ups.

I like it for it's potential as AMV fodder; helps that it can be pretty entertaining as well.

It requires a certain immunity to the gushing girlie surface. Once you can get past that it's a show that embraces the license for absurdity that comes with a kid's show. It even pulls queue's from the old Looney Toons library of jokes.

Skip to 10:30 and watch to about 11:15 in this video and you'll see what I mean.

Yes. Darn it, I was sure it would suck, but it's really good. If the kids don't like this one they don't deserve it.

Also, Fluttershy rules!

Dude, Manliness isn't about not liking girly things. It's about being okay with when you do. It's called being secure, unlike those guys who freak at a boy with nail polish.

Nope.

I was told that it was like the powerpuff girls, and that I might like it. I tried for 5 episodes, I didn't find it funny or entertaining at all.
Yeah, the only way the show is like powerpuff girls is that Tara Strong(the voice of bubbles) does the voice of two characters, Twilight and Fluttershy. Whoever told you that lied, it's nowhere near what powerpuff girls was. It's a kids show targeted at an age bracket just shy of what powerpuff girls was aimed at.

You're either going to like the show or not, it's honestly just not for everybody.
