I had a friend in high school who loved the character knuckles. She got a red collar with a red name tag. She drew Sonic art constantly. I would say that she could have been classified as a furry, but really that is up to the person themselves.

If you tell a person that a furry is just someone who likes the art, and they go "oh, yeah, well, that's me then," then no biggie, easy classification.

All the same, as some have made apparent above - not everyone is comfortable with that group or its stigma.

No, but I have nothing agianst furries. Of course, what's the definition of "furry" here? I mean, does being a Klonoa fan make you a furry, or what?
Also, you might want to specify whether you're talking about a platonic affinity towards anthropomorphic critters or the fetish; there's a big difference there.
If you're gonna say something about a topic as sensitive as furries, then make it a reasonable one. Ask people specific questions to promote discussion 'n what not.

Not a Furry, but I've met and like several furries... I also don't have a massive hate on for all things anthropomorphic.

I have no issues with the "lifestyle" though I have met several furries whom I do indeed despise, the arrogant ones with persecution complexes...

It could be said of any group with persecution complexes that a disproportionate amount of whining relative to the actual amount of persecution is accurately perceived as being abrasive to one's nerves.

Every group has their over-zealous, the furries no less.

I've been lurking for quite a while and I think the guy you are talking about is CidSilverWing.

I don't think he has been banned, he just doesn't use these forums much after getting some bad reactions to his "furry-ness" from some of the less open minded members of the community.

Oh I remember that guy, yeh he said something about being a furry but that's all I ever heard from him.
