Do you honestly expect many 'no' votes, here? I don't see why anyone who is not a gamer would visit this site's forums, lest they are in game development somehow.

Gamer is a silly and outdated term. Everyone plays videogames nowadays be it on Facebook, iPhone, whatever...
I like to play games a lot and spend a small fortune on them, but then again I spend plenty of time on movies, series, books and sex as well.
Asking someone if he is a gamer makes as much sense as asking someone if he is a fornicator.
So I answered no. The term doesn't define or describe me.

Actually, if someone doesn't decide that they are one then they aren't one. Gamer as it is used today usually=gaming enthusiast.

Since the term was left open to interpretation, I chose to interpret that a gamer is not someone who just happens to play games every once in a while, but someone who adopts a specific sub-culture, mannerisms, habits and possesses knowledge and passion for games that is not found on every single person who plays games ever.

Defined as such, I am not a gamer.

Ditto to all of this (except for the bit about ponies). In fact I get really excited when Yahtzee reviews something that I know enough to get most of the jokes about 'cause it doesn't happen often.
