Poll: Are You a Good Liar.

I think so. Either that or the people I lie to are quite stupid, since I can get away with quite a lot. There are even times where I try to be ironic and/or sarcastic, but people just don't pick it up, meaning that I unwillingly lie to them instead.

But I rarely want to keep up with the facade, so I'm prone to confess after a couple of seconds or so.

Pretty solid liar here when I want to be. Mostly use this for fun with mates, trying to sucker them into believing stories etc., but I let them know after a short while I'm just yanking their chain.

I try not to lie. I'm not good at straight lies, but I can bullshit with the best of them. As long as I can keep a straight face, I can deceive many a person. Not all people, but a good chunk of them...

it depends on the lie. Small lies I'm fine with, e.g. to hide a present or something. Big lies I don't do, I just be honest, cause lying will just make the situation worse later.

I'm pretty good. I've gotten away with some small lies. But I fail when I come across those who can sense liars. Like my sister. She sees through me every time.

I myself am a great liar, probably not good enought to trick someone who's trained to spot out liars but im damn good at it. I know exacly what to say when i need to lie.

The funny thing is, i dont really even like lies or commiting the act of lying. I'd rather no one lie, i guess im a bit of a hypocrite about this but atleast i don't lie very often. Only when needed.

My Girlfriend on the other hand is a terrable liar, even through text she can't lie no matter how hard she tries. Its rather funny.

It depends, if I'm about to be in a shithole of trouble I can't lie for my life, but with smaller things, I can lie like a pro. Of course, there are times when I can lie pretty well to save my skin when I'm in a lot of trouble, but not often.

I pretend to be bad at lying for the light things like if I took the last biscuit, but for something serious that I dont want to take the heat for or just saying "You know how bad I am at lying, this wasnt me." just to reinforce my innocence to make sure they dont blame me for something I certainly didnt do.

I know, I am sneaky like that... it works especially well against parents and teachers... basically anyone who feels they are superior simply because of their position at the time.

But it requires patience, you have to lay down the ground work and it can take some time before you get a reputation as a particularily bad liar.

^^ This. Also, I mainly lie to win arguments, as I find that lying about what emotions you are experiencing can turn the entire tide of a fight.

Basically, if you do it right, you can guilt-trip them without them realising it, so they end up feeling in the wrong without ever knowing tht you put them into that position.

I guess I'm in a fairly odd position here - I'm bad at lying though I like to think I'm pretty good at deception. If you ask me a direct question I will always tell you the truth, but if I need something done or want to hide something I'll act in such a way that you will never even think of asking that direct question.
