PC gamer but not by choice. My entire collection of video games from SNES to PS3 was stolen.

Fortunately Steam has helped me by having sales on several titles. It still angers me to think about it, but I hope I win a console someday for poetic justice.
Sorry about that, that sucks :-( Hope you get some good karma soon!

OT - I like console gaming, I do, it is just what I prefer. I don't dismiss the PC as a platform, I just enjoy playing on my 360/PS3 etc.

Despite having both a 360 and PC, my love for Mount and Blade and other similarly unique or "modifiable" PC games means that I'm a PC gamer (if I had to choose)... even if I have been playing my 360 a lot more recently.

Oh, wow, the PC-platform share of 65.1% was quite a surprise. Quite a sucker I was into believing that "PC gaming is dying fast." I was a hardcore PC-gamer prior turning to the PS3, so it's good to see that the scene is still alive and kicking.

I'm a gamer. No, not a PC gamer, not a console gamer. A gamer.
So if I have to vote, I will have to vote on the thing I game the most on, which is PC. But I almost game as much on my 360, then Wii and DS. The only thing I do not game on is Sony products.

You can still dual-boot all new computers with XP and Win7.
So one would think, but the XP installer on my machine BSODed when I tried it... I wanted to install the copy of XP I already had (I have 2 legitimate copies lol).
Could use VM I suppose, if I had a reason for using XP.

I disagree with the whole mouse/joystick thing. One reason that I use consoles Is that I can't stand using a mouse. I much prefer the two analog sticks on the average controller. Also with the "whole replay the game five years later" thing, yeah you can do that - if it wasn't for the fact that almost no games run on Windows 7 or Vista, which is what most new pcs use. Just last week I had to bust out my good old Windows XP computer from storage, just so I can play Theif.
...You do know that just about all PC games support dual thumbsticks?
Yes but not all games....

Why ignore one for the other.

I have a PS3 and a decent enough PC. If soemthing i want comes out for the PC i get it for the PC. If something I want comes out for the PS3 i get it for the PS3.

Ignoring an entire venue of gaming out of blind loyalty to a machine is foolish. Your PC isn't going to know you bought a game on your console. Its a cold unthinking machine. Sacrificing your enjoyment just so you can label yourself as a Console gamer or PC gamer is just idiotic.

I primarily play on my PS3 because it has more games I want with(for me) less hassle, but I'm not going to pass up a great game on my PC because of that.

There is a console in my house I could play on, but I am more a PC person than anything else.
I tend to get bored quite quick with all kinds of things and thus also games. So after a playing for about 30 min. or so, I just alt+tab it and watch an episode or something, write here or continue the game. You can't do that on a console.

Depends on the game, some work better on consoles, others work better on PCs, simple as that.

As Kevin Butler would say, we're all gamers. No discrimination.
Fair play, man.

I think that it's rather silly to assume that because you own one platform, you won't use others. I love playing the Total War games on PC- it's just perfect for rts.

That said, I wuv my 360 :p

But I still enjoy Hitman: Blood Money on my brother's PS2.

My hardcore gaming buddies are primarily PC gamers, and we usually end up playing PC games at web cafes, but they still have two Xbox's in the house.

Like what? With Xpadder or Joy2Key, I can't think of any games you can't use.

well, I think the transformation is complete, I can call myself a PC gamer, seeing as I'm only playing my PC and the only game on my Play station 3 I've been playing is little big planet.
