I'll be absolutely honest - I didn't know 'scrunching' existed until this thread. Well, now I have to try it. Damn you curiosity!

WTF? People scrunch toilet paper? Why the hell would anyone do that? That sounds incredibly inefficient and unhygienic.
I fold, that was my reaction as well when you said people actually scrunch.
Me too. I've never even thought there was anything besides folding. Seems like I'll never stop learning...

Are really moving from drowning threads to toilet threads?
This is a strange turn of events.
I'm not saving anything from that particular whirlpool.

Edit: OT: I find folding is much more paper efficient.

I'm pretty much a scruncher. I've only ever folded in emergency situations for my girly time of the month.

Basically, it takes time to fold and I don't feel like making it. So I scrunch and go.

Folder or scruncher?

Fold, didn't even realize scrunching was a thing until now.

Standing wiper or sitting wiper?

Both, not really comfortable with the status of shitlessness on myself until it's been wiped from all potential angles, or at least the practical ones.

How many sheets?

As many as it takes. I don't know what's normal and I don't keep count, but certainly much more than "one or two", if that's a thing.

Right or left handed?

Right? This seems oddly out of place with the other topics...

Do you wipe after urinating as well?

Yes, whenever possible.

I don't understand this thread, what exactly is scrunching? Since all I do is rip some toilet paper off and wipe my arse with it... i'm guessing that's scrunching it.

Why the fuck would you waste time folding it?

I used to scrunch, but recently I've began folding. Mainly because I enjoy the aesthetics of a carefully folded piece of toilet paper, and my aim in life is to create the most relaxing bathroom. I remember when I spent a good fifteen minutes crafting the ultimate toilet experience (hot chocolate, dressing gown, good book, pre-folded toilet paper, warm room, pre-flushed toilet, perfect).

I scrunch like a ************. Though on occasion I do fold, if I'm bored or we're running low on toilet paper.

Personally, I scrunch. But this debate intrigued me, so I asked a friend, and he told me that he alternates scrunching and folding every wipe. He said that he's never known which is better, and was always afraid to ask anyone -- so he just does both. Though that was interesting.

Started a scurncher, became a folder, never looked back.

On the off-topic side, maybe we should compile all the threads ever asked about Escapist toilet habits?

Folder or scruncher?
Standing wiper or sitting wiper?
How many sheets?
Right or left handed?
Do you wipe after urinating as well?

There's some very good survey material here for... someone I'm sure.
Oh man, can we add "hovering or sitting" for women? Because there are women that get pee on toilet seats because they hover, and until I found that out, I didn't even know about that one. Are people that freaked out by toilet seats?

Scrunch. It feels like there's more paper, and I prefer to keep my hands away from nasty-smelling things.
Uh, sitting. I didn't even know you could wipe standing.
Number of sheets depends on how thick the roll is. I will try to economize if there is not much paper left.
Right handed.
Yep, I wipe after urinating. You mean people don't? Although I guess guys have it easier, because you don't have a ton of hair right around the urethra.

You haven't seen some of the other topics on this over the years have you? There was a huge thread about standing or sitting while wiping, and every single person who did one couldn't believe that people did the other. 'You mean you actually stay seated! Faith and begorrah me poor heart can't take the shock.'

I ended up taking the question to my parents, who had different answers, and were just as shocked, because in 35 years of marriage they had never once thought to question whether the other sat or stood (more like a leaning crouch forwards according to the thread on it)

As for the wiping, go look in the 'Do other guys do this after weeing' thread kicking around somewhere in off-topic. It'll surprise you. Especially some of the girl's answers.

Nope, alas, I tend to only poke the threads I see on the front page. I don't spend huge amounts of time on the forums. (Hence how in four years I have less than 750 posts.)
