anti-social, as in I never hook up by mic when I play online. I used to be social, then I realized that there was too few number of people who are actually worth talking to.

Depends on your mood and what you're playing, does it not?

I had a good laugh the other night playing my first game of Halo 3 with a few of the guys from the escapist, and then went into solitary confinement to immerse myself in Fallout 3.

One thing I don't like in my gaming is competition. I just wanna have fun, I leave the rage and take no prisoners attitude to the pros... I don't mind losing a game as long as I had fun playing.

I personally would much rather be playing with some one els rarther than on my one, it kinda makes the game more fun and thers someone to talk to and to have your back.

I'm anti-social in the extreme. I never play multiplayer online, because I really dislike playing with people I don't know. I'll happily play split-screen co-op, but 95% of the time, I'll be playing a nice single-player game, where I don't have to put up with anyone else except the NPCs.

Social... games are meant to bring people together. They have been since the beginning of them in history.

I'm a social gamer, I'd much rather play with real people than A.I. Plus I love discussing games online or with friends, I kinda feel sorry for anti-social gamers, you can have much more fun with friends, but thats just my personal opinion

When I play I define the word "misanthropic". When I'm not playing, though, I'm really quite social.
I voted "anti-social" just because of the wording of the question.

It all comes down to preferance, i'm actually a pretty social person but gaming happens to bring out my most anti-social moments. lol

I love discussing games online though.

Nothing Like Gaming with a few friends. You can completely embarrass one of your friends IN FRONT of all of your other friends. How does it get better than that? Lan parties and what not are a blastey.

A mixture. I do love single-player, I love cutscenes, scripted events, changing scenarios etc, but I've also played alot of multi-player games (CoD 4: MW being an example of a game I played for months, and alot).
Although in CoD 4, I just played, nobody almost never said anything, and that was a good thing.
Otherwise I'd have to quit, because at that moment, I had an Xbox 360, and it's full of dicks (well, not full, but the majority).

I would have to say anti-social.
My mates are just typical gamers and only really like famous FPS's with gore and violence, e.g. Call of Duty, Halo, GEARS, GRAW, Left for Dead, Quake etc.. Im not saying i don't like these games.
But I tend to also play games that my mates absolutly hate, e.g. Wik Fable of Souls, Blue Dragon, Samurai Warriors 2, Enchanted Arms, Lost Odyssey, Boom Boom Rocket, Luxor 2, Hexic, Kengo Zero, Rag Doll Kung Fu, NPPL 2009, Outpost Kaloki, Etc etc. So I usually play games on my own.
Thats why i'm an anti-social gamer. =]

Social.
But I'm usually always running through Singleplayer alone. (Because some of my friends never shut up)

The term is asocial not anti-social. Anti social means you go against society, asocial means you just don't deal with society. Why did I have to make this inane correction? I'm really tired.

But yes I like to talk on L4D but no one else seems to want to have a chat, its probably because I'm REALLY annoying (see above).
Seconded. Anti-social is usually used to refer to criminals and psychopaths, not introverts. But it's a fun poll nevertheless. I usually self-report as an introvert, but I prefer social gaming, hence NWN persistent worlds and *gasp* an MMO with a mature player base. After all, I don't have to interact with *everybody* in the massive virtual world.

According to your guidelines, i could probably go either way. Out of my friends, i'm probably the most serious gamer, yet that's because i play alot of multiplayer games online. Quite often i play offline multiplayer at uni, but not so much at home.
