Ive been thinking lately about something my dumb ass, spoiled brat cousin said the last time i saw him, what he said was this "only 1% of the worlds population are vegetarians" (hes not actually smart enough to use those big words, its just how id have said it). Obviously this is a load of crap hes just pulled out of thin air for no obvious reason, but it got me wondering, just what is the veggie to non-veggie ratio?

edit: there! i added an option for bloody so called "semi-veggies" happy now?

(oh and if your reading this gunjack65, yes, well done, you knew it was me :p)

A lot of people in India are vegetarians which is one of the fastest growing populations on the planet. Just think about that.

As for me, totally veggie from year 0.

I would die if I became a vegetarian. If it was possible for humans to survive purely on meat on the other hand...

When I think about it, I've only come across two vegetarians in my life, and I've met a fair amount of people, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a small percentage..

I could never be vegetarian. Firstly, I like being somewhat healthy, and I can't see how vegetarians can be, although I really don't know that much about it. Secondly, I love the taste of meat. Oh and thirdly, I don't feel bad knowing that I'm eating slaughtered animals.

I've been a vegetarian most of my life. I have never eaten red meat (tried it and couldn't stand it) though I do enjoy fish and poultry. I don't eat it anymore, though.

Indeed I am.

I couldn't eat meat. It's just too...gross.

But then again, I've only ever had meat once in my life, but I didn't like it.

I'm a pescedarian (I will never be able to spell that properly), which means I eat fish and not meat. I have no real reason for not eating meat, I just hate the taste. And before you ask, yes, I have most probably tried every meat and preparation thereof that you care to ask me, and hated them all.

I voted veggie, as that's closer to what I am.
no no no, you cant vote veggie, god i hate people who do this! FISH ARE NO LESS ANIMALS THAN PIGS AND COWS you, MATE, are not a vegetarian *sticks tongue out*

i like meat too much. dont have anything against vegetarians but the people who turn veggie cos the decide they don't like certain meat and then suffer the loss of others (usually bacon) possess no logic in my mind

Hell no. Omnivore for life.

I love slaughter, I love blood, I love meat.

Fruits are good too.

People who think that being a vegetarian automatically makes you healthy are deluded. Yes, there are diets that somewhat reduce the disadvantages of vegetarianism making them about as good as a balanced omnivore diet. But if you want to be healthy, both in real and bullshit sense, there's more than food to it.

And I'm disgusted by hypocrisy and stupidity of people who put animals lives on the same level or higher then human lives.

Then again, all things considered, I don't care what ya'll eat. Just don't give me bullshit reasons for it.

No I'm not. I've never heard a convincing argument to be a vegetarian, whether it be for moral or health reasons. There just isn't any reason for me to be one. Besides, I like bacon to much to give it up forever. If I ever did need to give up meat for health reasons, I doubt It would permanent. Though I don't really see that happening anyways.

Now that I think about it, I know there are quite a few vegetarians on the Escapist. Yet I've never actually met someone who is a vegetarian in real life.

I think you'd get a bit of a bias on a gaming website...YAY BACON!!
Why? I don't see why a gamer is less likely to be a vegetarian than anyone else. Though it does seem like a lot of gamers like bacon. I wonder what the correlation is there.
