A lot of people in India are vegetarians which is one of the fastest growing populations on the planet. Just think about that.

As for me, totally veggie from year 0.
Severely overpopulated does not mean "fastest growing", and I really don't know what that would have to do with being a vegetarian anyways.

I wouldn't make it as a vegetarian. Meat is the focus of every meal I eat.

Sorry, I can't get enough Protein from Peanuts alone. I need a good Meatloaf or Porterhouse Steak now and then. I still eat my veggies on the side, though.

Go, Team Carnivore!

Yes, but not a vegan.
It's not a moral thing, I just woke up one day and decided that I didn't want to eat meat anymore.

Kinda like waking up and realizing that I didn't like boys, funny how life works...

You are missing out on vital nutrients.
Some vegetarians perhaps do. Just like some omnivores perhaps do.

Wikipedia article said:
The American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada have stated that at all stages of life, a properly planned vegetarian diet is "healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provides health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases".
I'm no expert but if that sentence from this Wikipedia article [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism#Health_benefits_and_concerns] on vegetarianism is accurate, then that's enough for me.

So, respect the environment, eat meat.
Um. I'm not so sure about that point either. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livestock%27s_Long_Shadow]

I was a vegan through all of my teenage years, and a raw vegan for the better part of them--not for 'animal rights' reasons, but because I'm a so-called health nut and never really liked meat or dairy to begin with. I can't adequately express how much better soymilk tastes to me than milk. Perhaps 'OMFGWIN' comes close.

I've never felt so physically awesome as when I was a raw vegan. So much energy, such good moods, and none of the health problems we grow to accept as a normal part of our lives as frugivores-who-want-to-be-omnivores: colds, various aches and so on.

I'm only back to being a wannabe-omnivore like everyone else because the quality of produce in my area has plummeted dramatically. I don't know why, but in our grocery stores, the produce has been terrible for the last four years, and the farm stand prices have skyrocketed (for not much better quality). Sad.

I still don't much like meat, though. Aside from sushi maki or well-prepared poultry, the textures and tastes of most meats hit me in no way pleasant. I especially hate chewing fat. Or bone--the flavor of bone instantly nauseates me.

And soymilk is still OMFGWIN.

I tried being one last summer, but just couldn't do it. I mean I could if I had to, I just love eating meat
I do have limiatitions though. For example I don't eat Haribo and anything with gelatine in it purely because I find the stuff disgusting. There might be stuff I eat with gelatine in it that I just don't know about, though. I also don't eat McDonalds, KFC or burger king because they treat their animals that badly

Properly planned, AKA with vitamins and supplements.
No, as in consisting of a wide variety of foods and much less junk food.

I mean, the most nutritionally complete diet for humans is entirely frugivorous, if you get obnoxiously technical about it. Fruits alone provide much better, more balanced nutrition than the food pyramid, for example. But this is only true so long as 'fruit alone' means a lot more than apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, and pears, which is just about all that most people are familiar with or have readily available.

For the same reasons that the healthiest person on Earth and the least healthy person on Earth are probably both practicing omnivores. An omnivorous diet can be anything from the the food pyramid to just potato chips, bacon and orange juice.

Plus, you can be an omnivore like nature intended....
Bears and raccoons are omnivores. Humans are, anatomically, frugivores, whether we eat omnivorously or not. It's a little hard to make a claim about what 'nature intends,' either way, only what nature resulted in.

Not necessarily, according to the American Dietetic Association [http://www.eatright.org/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=10279].

NOTE: Link is to open a PDF file I found on at www.eatright.org, the ADA's site, searching for keyword 'vegetarianism'.

Myth: Vegetarians need to take vitamin or mineral supplements.
Fact: Most healthy vegetarians don't need to take supplements although there may be exceptions. Someone switching to a vegetarian diet should meet with a registered dietitian to be sure that all necessary vitamins and minerals are being consumed from food sources.

Not a chance! I'm a vegetable-rights activist. Vegetables feel pain too, you know? Except for potatoes, they feel nothing at all.

So something supporting vegetarianism is saying it's good for you. It's like a police state saying living in a police state is a good thing, NO DUH THEY'RE SAYING THAT! Also, corn and potatoes are the only good tasting vegetables. I'd use a vegetarian diet as a form of torture.
Pfft. No surprise that this comes from a person against vegetarianism.

Or am I confusing the cause and the effect? Nah. Couldn't be.

I'm an Omnivore, but I actually like vegetarian food if I'm at my veggie friend's house.

Seriously, I never guessed that lasagne their was corn until he told me afterwards :D
