I can't stand them hippies who shout around that they have to 'protect the world' against ourselves. Such arrogance. All we'd do is destroy ourselves, and the planet doesn't really care when that happens.
Mind you, I'm all for curbing on polution and not gobbling up all the finite resources we have at our desposal, but don't pretend it's for anything else than our descendants. Because whatever we'd do in terms of polution and environmental damage, we'd kill ourselves way before the planet dies. Fast-forward another couple hundred thousand years and you'll barely notice anything has happened.

Exactly. All we'd do is destroy ourselves, the earth will just keep on spinning. It's been through way worse than us puny apes.AccursedTheory said:I concede to the point that we should attempt to curb environment damage. I believe, however, that the notion that we can destroy this planet is perhaps the most arrogant statement imaginable.
And you know what's even funnier? That a small, simple, relatively cheap car with an excellent fuel efficiency is probably a lot less hard on the evironment than one of those complicated hybrid monsters.Stryc9 said:They want to get everyone into hybrid or electric cars 'because gasoline\diesel engines pollute too much', well not everyone can afford that, but to these people that doesn't matter. If you can't afford to drive a hybrid or electric car then you don't deserve to drive. That's the condescending attitude that these people take that pisses me off and makes me want to strangle them.
