This kind of turned into a "Cool pictures of giant spiders" thread for me.

I'm not scared of spiders. If one crawls on you, there is always that instinctual reaction to jump away and brush it off, but once you overcome that they're harmless.

Mind you, we don't have many poisonous varieties in Canada, so I might be pretty soft in the spider department.

The presence of a spider that is neither puny or massive makes me uncomfortable, yes. But the more I think about it, the clearer it is to me that it's not really about the spider, it's about my sister who was freakishly afraid of spiders and would trample over me screaming if I was between her, a spider, and a door.

So, arachnophobes, it's actually you who I'm scared of.

As long as they aren't anywhere near me I'm fine. I can't stand having anything with six to eight legs crawling on me, it freaks me out. I'm generally fine with Huntsmens being around. Growing up with Huntsmens in your house makes it that tiny bit more tolerable...except for when they are living in your shoes or hiding on your shoulder...or chasing your around. Fast little critters.
