Female, probably around the 20-25% mark, and I'm happy with my weight. I think it's pretty much between the limits of an ideal weight, anything between 15-35% for women.

If I had to be picky, I'd say I'm more attracted to the 10-20% range for the males. I could of course go for higher, but again, this is mainly if I was being really shallow.

I'm a 35.9% female and I dig males around the 20% - 25% mark. Anything below looks either ill or unnatural, anything above looks well unhealthy to me.

I like to lose weight every now and then, which seems to happen quite naturally and cyclically. I first started working out properly when

a) I nearly got killed by a bookshelf, in slow motion
b) I couldn't lift 90-pound baby rottweiler pooch when he tore out a claw
c) I started having severe back pain from just sleeping

So, I seem to feel best around the 30% mark, 25% is always possible, but it makes me feel weak, get tired more easily, feel cold more often (even when it's warm, when I get tired with <30%, I feel cold) and generally fall apart below 25%. I know it looks better, but it turns me into a less stable version of myself, both mentally and physically.

Also, being otherwise healthy, with the winter still going strong, the 35.9% seem to allow me to withstand even below zero temps without, well, breaking a sweat. Most colds just seem to pass me, and when I do get one it's chicken carcass broth with ginger and chili peppers all the way, and while I might still merrily infect everyone around me, I myself feel outrageously fine.

I'm a male, and about 20% I'm pretty happy with how I look, I'd just love to get rid of those last little lovehandles that my body is holding on to. A diet of salad and oatmeal + exercise seems to work.
Salad and oatmeal doesn't exactly do it for me, as the salad is mainly about the sauce. It's fun eating salad, but most of the green stuff I could easily replace with cardboard from a nutritional standpoint. I love olive oil, some lemon juice or vinegar and fresh herbs. Mustard, Worcester sauce, minimal amounts of salt added. For cucumber and/or onion salads, it's mostly the Eastern vinegar/sugar/salt combo, drizzled or soaked, depending on the salad/veggies in question.

Why not go for chicken, lean meat, the actual building blocks required to easily shape and rebuild that body of yours?

You can do a lot with just oatmeal and 'salad', whatever that is in your books.

If you find yourself getting easily tired with the fitness industry, there's a special gem waiting to be discovered:

Hard to say. Two people of the same sex with the same body fat percentage can look very different depending on size and muscles.

Based on the pics, I look most like 20%-23%, but then again I have relatively big boobs (and boobs are fat tissue for the most part), so I might score higher.

I'm somewhere between 15-20%, but I'd prefer to be in the 6-12% range. I guess that's more or less what the ideal is in society, but I don't really care about that, it's not like anyone will see. I just hate my flab.

Male - 10-12% That's me, I take pride in my fitness and strength, could go lower but I'm happy with my chocolate bars for now :)

My wife is 40%, don't see her as unattractive, but if she was 15-17% I would be a very happy man:)

We just have different opinions on what's important in life...

I'm probably about 20% but I exercise a fair amount and am not horrifically unfit, so its okay. COuld do with being a bit trimmer, but I'm not too bothered by it.

I'm approximately 12%, although my figure is slighter. Further, my musculature is compact and tight on the left, round and fullish on the right. The difference between the left and right sides is quite noticeable, particularly on the arms.

I'm happy enough with this, but I wouldn't be dismayed until beyond 25%.

As for women, eummm... I don't like 20% at all. Way too skinny. Perhaps it's ideal healthwise, but I only like the sight of 30-35%'s personally. Perhaps some 40%'s, because not all bodies are the same. Some will look better than others at that weight.

About what percent are you?
Me: male, 15-20% bodyfat. Probably nearer to 20 than 15.

Are you happy with it?
More or less! Would be happier if I had ab definition.

What would you like to be?
Either my current bodyfat but with more muscle, or lowerbody fat with the same amount of muscle. I'm training for strength rather than weight loss at the moment so probably the first option is most likely.

What do you think society tells you you should be?
10-15%, perfect abs, no belly, oh, and that should all be effortless "natural" physique gained from a few weeks' surfing, or maybe some Wii Fit and the occasional Zumba class. Training hard at a gym is for obsessive meatheads, you know!

My preference in women:
Ideally 15%-30% but I'm not too picky.

Woooooooooooo Mr. 35-40% here... I do not like my body at all, but I've been on weight control for the last month(which has yielded about -18 kilos so far)so I'm hoping to hit an ideal of an average 20-25% body fat. I like looking big just not stuffed in the middle lol.

The annoying thing is I have really strong legs so below the knee I look more like 15-20%, and at the shoulders I'm more 25% so I have a big ol' bulging belly and it makes me extremely frustrated sometimes...

Ehh, I guess I am 30%. Bit less man-boob, bit more stomach. Pretty content with how I look to be honest, and I wouldn't really fall into despair if I fell to 25% or got up to 35%, but I think I should go on a diet if I get over 40%.

I recently went for a lifestyle change. I was eating incorrectly and lived a very sedentary life. I had an assessment at a gym (of which I am now a member) and found I was around 37%. I am just about to finish my first month of a new diet and exercise routine and so far I have noticed awesome results in my strength, fitness and mood. I appreciate that I still have a lot of work to do but I am in this for the long game.

Keep up the good work man. Its always inspiring to read similar stories.

I'm bewteen 25-30 but by September I'm going to be down to about 15 for the military. Once I get there I'm good, its not to thin to be unhealthy or uncanny but also no noticeable fat.

I'm at about 30%, but would prefer to be down to around 20%. Going by those pictures, I very much prefer women who have 35 to 40 % body fat

I would like to be considerably less fat than I currently am. Judging by those pictures I'd guess that I'm in the 25-30% range, though I understand these things vary by body type and I'm a pretty tall guy so that might balance it out somewhat, but no, I'm not at all happy with the way my body looks and my face does nothing to compensate for it. >.> Probably would've been about 20% a couple of years ago and in the right clothes I can still pass for skinny (sorta) but that's considerably harder now than it was back then. Society will tell me that 10-15% is ideal and healthy and whilst I acknowledge this as truth, society can nonetheless go fuck itself. As for my preference in others (again, only going by these pictures, I'm otherwise clueless about this sort of thing) anything in the 10-25% area for guys looks good and I could see myself cuddling up to a cute 30% guy; preferably if they've got muscular arms at least but above that might be a bit much. As for women my ideal would be 25-30% (I do find it kinda funny they put the best looking one right in the middle) but I certainly wouldn't say no to some bustier incarnations of 35-45% and there might be the odd 50% that could catch my eye, but generally it would be a bit much.

Male, I'm 13% body fat according to my scales, and very happy with it. A little more muscle definition and I'd be cheering.

As for the females, I like a curvy girl- about 30-35%, going by the pictures. There's a definite sweet-spot between rake-skinny and beached-whale.
