My hat is in the "Won't boycott it but won't use it" pool unless they patch their old pc games to require it.

EA has nothing to offer me that warrants a PC version. Or in many cases, any version.

I don't PC game, so I'm good.
*victorious cackle*
But if I did game on my PC, I would boycott it. Because then I could still just get ME3 on my console! Preowned!

Nope, the beauty of console gaming, no need to hassle with digital distribution. Though, I personally don't care about origin or steam.

Not using Origin.

Even if a new Phoenix Wright game was released on it.
(or Evil Genius 2)

Quite frankly, I don't even remotely care about the other games they may release on that platform (reminds me of someone who was all "lol, deprive yourself of ME3" as if that's the greatest thing since toast).
In fact, if I had the knowhow, I'd develop some program that would deny Origin the access needed to spy on your files.
I don't, though. Hoping for college to fix that. >=3

Oh hell yes. I ain't buying anything. Not ME3 or TOR or anything like that. EA can kiss my ass. Plus, my friends will most likely get those games, so I can easily play them at their place.
I thought the rich jew producer paid for equipping the place?
What are you talking about?

You do realise that to boycott something, means that you actively refuse to either purchase, or USE the products/services that you're boycotting...

So in effect, you're boycotting fuck all, you're just not buying something.

OT: No, I won't be. I will be buying ME3, and probably not much else requiring Origin. I don't have Steam running all the time, and I won't have Origin running all the time.

Also...

Nope, it's not. Origin, presumably in these games, will be the DRM model of choice. By installing a patch to circumvent that copywrite protection, you're in fact breaking the law.

Maybe there is no need to avoid EA, this was posted about a month ago;

There is hope.

I have no problem with Origin since they rewrote their ToS prevent them from selling my anonymous system information. That makes it better than Facebook in my eyes. I am maintaining my boycott of Facebook though.

I pre-ordered BF3 the day they changed their ToS, since then I have also bought FIFA 12 (I don't care if they don't change FIFA much year to year my last soccer game was Sensible Soccer 2006). Both of those games were purchased through GamersGate because the Origin Store isn't very competitive when it comes to prices.

I tried it for a few seconds and didn't like it.
if I want a EA game there are other ways to get them (like used sales just to troll them.)

No, I already owned The Sims 3 before Origin came out and I got a free copy of Battlefield 3 with my graphics card, so it would be senseless to waste 2 perfect good games just because of the digital distribution platform they use.
Sims 3 needs Origin now?

Works fine until EA kills off your account for doing this. If they ban people for swearing on their forums, it is only a matter if time before they put in detection and bans for circumventing Origin. No way I am running the risk of losing my game investments.

If I buy TOR, will I require Origin? I have no plans to do so as yet, but if I finally do then I guess i might be forced to use it?
No, unless you buy it via Origin that is.

O/T I am boycotting Origin and any games that require it, which is a pain since I adore battlefield. I will still buy EA games that don't require it. I don't expect that this action will give EA a headache, that's not why I am doing it. It is purely to stop EA taking more personal details from me than any other distribution service does. Things like what hardware and software I am running are not things I will divulge without being asked. I don't have anything I am ashamed of on my computer, I just don't like the principle they are going with that to use their service they get this info without your express permission. I have used No-CD patches in the past and I don't want the likes of EA looking though how I have modded games with their software detection and deciding that things like no-cd patches warrant account bans. I am not going to use any system with the potential to go down that road.

I have no problems with EA having a distributions system like Steam. I just have a problem with one facet of the the system. If that is changed (which should be simple) so it is more in like with how steam asks for this data, I will be quite happy to use Origin.

Good that the vote is currently reflecting a negative Origin view in comparison to the positive posts above.

Nope. I see no reason to boycott it. There is nothing wrong with it, and boycotting it would mean missing out on some great games or paying an exorbitant amount of money ($300) for a console. For me, with very little income, to buy a system worse than my own, so that I can play a game without a system that I honestly could not care less about... Seems kinda stupid to me. So nope, not going to boycott Origin. I mean, I have Steam, which a ton of games require, and I'm not boycotting them, so why would I boycott Origin.

If EA just didn´t f*** up with Steam, i would really prefer this platform since they need LOTS of memory-_-
